I got a DS Lite recently, and so far have picked up three games: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Pokémon Diamond.

So, I am looking for a fourth game, so that my DS case will be filled with good game goodness. Anything you think is good, tell me about it. Just take note I am not a fan of Rock Band type rhythm games, or rhythm games much at all.

get them modchip cartridges so you won't need to carry a case.

recommended CycloDS... R4, TT, M3 Real are fine too but beware of copycat fake crappy versions..

dealextreme.com the ones that support SDHC are clones.

then browse ds.ign.com and look for games of your interest through the game profiles, check they're rating, reviews if possible, then find gameplay footages, i look on youtube.

then you can go to places to download DS roms and download from there.

Lunar Knights is pretty awesome. So are any of the Castlevania games on the system (my favorite is Portrait of Ruin). Sonic Chronicles is decent if you like Sonic games, otherwise don't bother. Both of the Bleach games are pretty sweet fighters. Space Invaders Extreme is pure win, and is easily the best remake of the game ever made (especially so if you have a Rumble Pak). The Phoenix Wright games are all pretty fun. There is also a pretty good Dragonball game on the system. Finally, the first Trauma Center is quite a lot of fun (the second one kind of ruined the spirit that made the first one so much fun).

I'm sorry, but if you don't get Sonic Rush, you aren't allowed to have a DS.

Also, Mario Kart DS is pretty fun, especially after you unlock the faster characters.

Well, I just ordered up Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Noticed it was starting to appreciate in value, and I know I want to have it, so figured now is better than later.

Advance Wars has been a common suggestion, and I do love tactical games.

There are numerous games that are good for the Nintendo DS. Try the Phoenix Wright/Apollo Justice games as they are absorbing and good games as they have good storylines and have not too bad gameplay.

Mario Kart DS is a great multiplayer game if you got friends with DS's but it is still a good game in it's right. New Super Mario Bros is a short but good platformer and is good for short journeys like when travelling up to work.

Sonic Rush is a good DS Game and Sonic is best on 2D than 3D, the other Sonic title cannot remember is fair.

Some people mention Advance Wars on the DS, it is one of the best tactical games around and I got that game so I recommend it.

If you understand Japanese or have a good grasp of it, then import Super Robot Taisen W for the DS is a good tactical robot game where different Japanese animation robot series come together to fight a common enemy.
If you do not then Super Robot Taisen Original Generations 1 and 2 for the Gameboy Advance has good gameplay which is in English but does not contain the robot series like Gundam, FMP etc just original robots. Though I do prefer Super Robot Taisen Judgement on the Gameboy Advance as the difficulty is higher, has slightly better gameplay and more robot series than SRT W.

Animal Crossing - It is a very deep game and kinda additive but may not be to anyone's taste. Also the online element is at it's best.

If you like tactical or RPG games then The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is very good and takes a good while to complete, also don't forget the Final Fantasy remakes of FF3 and FF4 which are not too bad RPG games.

Remember on a DS you can also play Gameboy Advance games on here and the DS is region free so you can import Japanese, American and European titles.

The one game I would recommend for a DS owner over all other games is: The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Its a great game and uses the DS in really unique ways. I have however Pre Ordered Broken Sword: The Shadow Of The Templars - Director's Cut I cant wait to get stuck into that baby.

My girlfriend has been monopolizing my DS for this game and she says its uber fun. Maybe if she beats it I can play it! That's ok I'm emulating Final Fantasy Tactics (PSX) on my PSP right now. :D FAR superior to the PSP release which runs slow and has dumbified controls in battle.

I read a bit about that, as I was thinking about picking it up (I got Disgaea instead). Why is there slowdown on a game that (effectively) has been done on the GBA? It makes no sense. I can emulate the GBA game on the PSP without slowdown, so what is the problem?

I don't know. Squeenix has seriously angered me at the FFT War of the Lions release. Yes it looks pretty good--but so does my emulated PSX FFT...what gives? I'll stick to my PSX version and just do without the extras. I originally bought the PSP one new--then after 2 hours took it back to GameStop where I bought it and my manager friend voided the ticket and I got something else. Glad I did. I'll buy the PSP version again if it is like $9 or less...

*edit*
Don't forget to buy Build-A-Lot. Its a good fun game.

I ended up beating order of ecclesia, it was amazing. I actually beat it once and then the new game plus. I hate Black Sigil, and the suikoden. I have yet to play avalon code. Try the new kingdom hearts game coming soon in september.
