Suggestion: 7 Day thread rule

Can there be a rule to say that if a comment hasn't been posted in the thread for the past 7 days it will be automatically locked?

Just because a thread is old doesn't mean it's outdated and should be locked. The guess the movie and the weather threads, just to name a few, often go more than seven days between posts but they certainly don't deserve to be closed.

But yeah, just because a thread isn't updated regularly doesn't mean it deserves to be locked. That rule wouldn't help the mod staff at all. If that rule were to be applied, it would make the Search function near useless. Also, a new thread would have to be created if the one expires and gets locked. It's contradictory to what the mod staff wants; keeping the site clean.
