My suggestion for PD is that pressing the buttons for "view left" and "view right" at the same time causes a "look back". It would be awesome, especially for G25-owners, where there are only 2 buttons on the wheel.

You can bind the buttons. for G25, one of the wheel-types in options (Driving Force PRO I think) matches the buttons of G25

How do you look left and right?

Go to options and change the controller settings to a setup you're comfortable with, you're probably also missing out on Live Dynamics as well (an option which lets you change settings such as brake bias while driving with a simple menu that appears while driving when you hit whatever button you assign for it.)
My suggested setup for controllers is making look left and look right L1 and R1 and look behind the down arrow on the D-pad. I set the Live Dynamics to turn on/off with the up arrow and I alter the settings -/+ with L3 and R3. I didn't bother setting the moving up and down options for the dynamics menu as I only normally alter Traction control for my personal launch control though sometimes I leave it on brake bias.

Agreed, this would make things much easier whilst close racing online.

I have enough trouble pushing one button at a time, never mind two at the same time

Cheers dude I'll give it a try.

and I think It's also a great idea.

Nice idea, but I'd much rather have the buttons on the wheel for nitrous boost and handbrake.

Neither of those buttons are in heavy use during a race, it wouldn't be much hardship to swap between to the two for hotlapping or whatever and racing. You simply can't see out of the cockpit except directly in front of you, i have the G25 buttons for looking to the side for that reason, i don't want to hit people who i simply don't see.

Suggestion to those who like the quick look back...

I run a lot of TTs, so I have my left wheel button (G25) set to toggle my ghost, and my right wheel button is set to look back. Look Left and Right are Square and Circle on the shifter. The RA menu is activated by the left most red button on the shifter (also set the rightmost red button as a redundancy). I move about the RA menu with the D-Pad on the shifter. Up/down to select, left/right to adjust.

I also use paddles to shift, so I have my sequential shifter set to Reverse when I push up, and e-brake when I pull back. ;)

Except in a race it's more important to see who's beside you quickly as approaching a corner, for the most part the mirrors take care of rear view. Most of us race a lot.;)

Exactly, thats what I do, using the side views to see immediatly whats beside me, and the mirrors to see behind.
