Hey everyone,
I am hosting a casual sprint race event for Classic Cars open to everybody who fancies a bit of racing with these kind of cars =).
Sunday Classics Cup
August 2nd, 2026
lobby open: 20h CEST (Berlin, Paris etc.)
lobbyhost: RufusGoldstryff (event is friends-only, I'll post the lobby ID once it is live here in this thread)
race 1 start: 20h15 CEST
each race will be a 10 min sprint. All in all, the whole event will take about 120 minutes.
The event is now finished. Results will be posted in the next couple of days.
Races:
1 | Red Bull Ring
2 | Spa 24h
3 | Dragon Trail Coast
4 | High Speed Ring
5 | Tsukuba (wet - rain setting: R5)
6 | St. Croix C
Car specs:
- Any car with an in-game model year from 1928 to 1981
- 600 PP
- sport softs
- 350 kw max.
- no engine swaps, no NOS
Pending: The 1969 Boss Mustang is not allowed as of yet, however, I'll try to ascertain if the 350kw limit might solve that issue. Otherwise, any car goes that adheres to the specs.- No livery requirements. If you have either a replica race livery or a period-correct fictional livery, I'd be very happy if you show up in that, makes for a cooler atmosphere in the moment and pictures later on imo.
- You can change cars as often or as little as you want to
- Links to my classic car tunes from the tuning section of gtplanet will be posted in this thread (see a few posts below).
Race etiquette:
- be sporting, no dirty driving (of course), this is a casual fun event
Cups:
- Speed Award: For the person averaging the lowest finishing positions among all six races (a Dns will be scored as a 16th place finish)
- Connaisseur Award: For the driver averaging the oldest model year among all the cars they used in the event (a dns will be scored as a 1981 model year)
Lobby settings will be:
1x tire and fuel / light damage / light shortcut penalties / flag-rules on / realistic slipstream and grip reduction / no tcs / fastest first grid
Registration:
- You can just show up on race day, but if you do register beforehand I am very happy and I'll reserve you a spot in the event
Public practice lobbies:
- I'll host two more public classic car lobbies before the event: On Thursday, 23rd July, starting from ca. 20h30 CEST, and on Tuesday, 28th July, starting at 20h CEST and running for ca. 2+ Hours. The races will be a bit shorter and we will race a lot of tracks, but the car and lobby specs are the same, so it's a good setting to practice a bit, test some tunes and have some fun races. I have done a few of those and they've been really well behaved and good experiences thus far.
Final note:
I've raced here for a while until a few years ago and got back into playing GT7 more regularly a few months ago now. Mostly doing road car and classic car pp racing. Hope to see some of you on August 2nd.
