A car looses to another car with 150 more HP. I don't see the big deal.

I have a video of a stock LS1 Trans Am kicking a R35 GT-R's patooty in a drag. I also have a video of a cammed but otherwise stock 289 in a '65 Mustang roasting a 2006 Viper SRT-10.

Things like this happen all the time. Comes down to the driver and mods in the competeting cars.

Wow, a modified car beats an unmodified car....yup that's impressive.

I have a video of a stock LS1 Trans Am kicking a R35 GT-R's patooty in a drag.

A stock GT-R runs a high 10 to a high 11 quarter mile depending on the year, whereas a stock Trans Am will run mid-to-high 12's on a good day so ya...I'd like to see that video.

Have at it. Trans Am had engine troubles on top of it. I talked to both owners later on, they are both bone stock, and the GT-R was a 2012. You can argue that all you want but it won't get you anywhere.

Race at 2:52

That Trans Am isn't stock, stock Trans Am's don't sound like that.

And GT-R's are about $100k for whoever in the video was asking.

The Trans Am was straight piped, they do sound like that when they don't have mufflers, like any other V8. I have pictures of it under the hood, and up close photos of the car. It's stock. And that was on street tires. Like I said, say what you want, I talked to the owner and have seen both cars in person.

I thought they were about $100k-ish, I couldn't remember so I threw the $60k out there for the hell of it.

Straight-piped isn't stock now is it?

Still, I'm going to go by the numbers and the numbers say that Trans Am wasn't stock.

I don't consider cutting off exhaust pipes to be a mod.

You don't have to believe it, but I know what I have heard and seen.

And if you care to watch:

Yawn...
First it's stock, then it's straight pipe, then straight pipe isn't a mod.
All the while we know the GTR will eat that car (stock to stock) on the 1/4 mile every time a driver isn't high or drunk behind the wheel.
Fail driver, fail video, fail accuracy.

I can't really take anything said to be legit when straight pipes aren't a mod, even more so when that only comes out after people call out what a line of crap it was to say bone stock in the first place. :p

Lame for sure.

A fully built and gutted racecar vs a bolt on ZR1.... Hmm ya. What were you expecting?

How the hell can you consider straight pipes to be a mod? It's 2 freaking pipes for god sakes. All he did was cut them halfway underneath he doors and left it. How is that a mod??? I have seen it. Man you guys are strange

You are aware of how the "breathing" of an engine/exhaust system affects power right?
Oh wait, obviously you aren't never-mind.
Not that the Trans-am won because of power.

A mod is anything that is modified from what came from the factory, and I wasn't aware that you could order a Trans Am from GM with the tailpipes "cut halfway underneath the doors."

At Kent

I am well aware how it works.

You guys take mods way too far. I don't start calling it modded until you get into bolt ons. Neither does most of the people I know either. Regardless I'm not going to keep arguing over this. Believe what you want.

At Slashfan.

Seriously, I'm going to redefine my idea of mods to be only Stage 2 and up so I can be one of the first USDM GR8 Sti to get a stock 12 second 1/4 mile. :sly:

I mean that works right, since "mods" is now a subjective term meaning only certain types of mods.
Hell, by the Slashfan definition you could do a full weight reduction, no headliner, backseat, insulation of any kind, and as long as you don't bolt in the roll cage you've got a stock un-modded car!!!

Just imagine how fast it could go with mods.

Wow. That is not even the case. But go ahead ad keep telling yourself that. Hope the guy is there this Wednesday night, I might go film him telling me what he's done to it.

Which of course would be nothing right.
Should be a quick video unless it's only slightly un-modded (not really sure how you describe mods when they aren't really mods because they are only not mods to slashfans).

I consider it a mod. Hell taking off the air silencer on LS1 cars(which helps alot) is a mod. Anything to change it from stock is a mod even pulling seats out or taking the front sway bar off is a mod.

I look at it to be just another exhaust system. Whoopdy do.

Unlike Youtube, hopefully the staff will actually do something about it. I have requested a mod or other staff member to monitor this thread. I don't want anything bad to happen.

I don't see the problem. Originally, I posted in response to the OP and it went from there. That said, I'm done with that now.

Back on topic, besides the obvious tires, roll cage etc in the Civic, you could definitely call it a sleeper. That is pretty insane to see something like that roll up next to you and when called out, you think you'd win. I'm not a Civic fan, but I am a fan of sleepers, so that is pretty cool. With that kind of power in a FWD car, that has to get difficult to control.
