Qualification sent.

Im happy to be back in online racing, though this is my first time playing the game since coming back from vacation, so my form may be poor. Luckily Autumn ring is a track where ive enjoyed success in the past, including a win in a very competitive series and then a second place the following year (same series) while losing to a car that was clearly faster on this track. Im happy to be racing with you guys and good luck to you all.
 
Got your time. Now if only a few more of the Class 1 guys would do the same. :)
 
From the looks of qualifying, I think Class 2 may be beefed up a little more for Race 2.

Roughly translated as, "Class 2 got OWND by class 3." :lol: It stands to reason though as currently the power and weight limitations for class 2 and 3 are more or less identical. But the class 2 4WD are going to loose more power through drivetrain loss than the class 3 RWD. Maybe ~420hp for class 2 is needed?

Highly unlikely. The deadline for Qualy is Sunday and you can't really have results until everyone is done submitting. It'll be Monday probably.
 
The problem with class 2 in GT4 is the lack of adjustability. Especially when it comes to tires. We just equip racing tires and that's that. The size of tire is one of the biggest differences between class 2 and 3 in r/l. They still get a "class melting pot" as we'll describe but from the impression I've got regarding the situation, it may be too close. GN+ and I will discuss the situation, for now don't worry.

As for quali results, they will be posted before as soon as GN+ has tallied the results following the due date. Today I was stupid and slept instead of raced so I'm gonna have to limp around the track for my quali tommorow, still adjusting to the DS2.

I think I did good, and it's some much fun driving this car because of
how smooth it is:).
 
I'll send you my times tommorow. I would send tonight but I'm just too tired to get one final hour of qualifying in. I love the IS200. It's a great car. I really like the freedom to create your own vehicle. Thanks GN+!
 
Technical regulation changes have been announced in the Interest/Sign-up thread. Please make the given changes as soon as you've completed your FINAL attempt at the Round 1 race.

As an eventful week of testing and qualification comes to a close for round one of Super Taikyu season 8, drivers prepare for the first race. Qualifications were tight, and if it's any preview of what the race will be like, we are in for a treat.

More changes are being developed now. I still haven't got in touch with GN+ but expect some serious changes in tire rules.

HOW ARE THESE GUYS GETTING SUCH MIND-BLOWING TIMES! 1'10. blah, blah, blah!! That's incredible! I had to bust my gut to get my time! Good job--I think I'm gonna have to start sleeping with my DFP!

Due to the time differences in ST2 and ST5 I would like ALL DRIVERS IN BOTH CLASSES to submit their car specs and set-ups to yours truely.

Secondly. For race submissions I believe it is necessary you stop at pit exit, wait for the field to pass and DO NOT PASS UNTILL PASSED THE START FINISH LINE (beginning your first timed lap). If AI mess up stop and wait. No matter how far behind you think this puts you, eveyone in your class will be dealing with the same circumstances. (Not to mention, that lap isn't timed so it doesn't really matter.)

Do you want my current ST5 car spec (as raced in Round 1) or with the new changes it will be running for Round 2?

Loving the sound of letting AI past and not overtaking till passing the start line. 👍

EDIT: I've got good news... and I've got badnews. The good news: It's going to be a close race in ST2. The bad news? It's going to be a close race in ST2. I'm shaking as I have to go check my replay for my Subi race. I don't know what happend but I am way off. The tires, set-up and brake balance really hurt me. Too much rear brake meant a lot of spins. The Cally should be competitive in ST1 however I haven't the faintest on how quick the others will be.

Imma submit my specs shortly...lemme first wonder how i got a pole position first....
ST5...got it by over 1.1secs
ST3...This is gonna be the closest race i have ever seen in my life...

EDIT: looks like S2000's are gonna sweep the ST5 clas....lol....just a thought
 
I agree. Those S2000's are hot! Well, I'm subitting now.
 
Thanks for chiming in guys. I've been doing some testing and it turns out the ST5/GN Plus class may not look the same come race two.

Are unreal... wow my little RX-8 needs to keep up... --- Randy
 
I did some tests last nite with the new suspension setup and I found something cool.
I though that I would see if I could keep up with qualifier time for this race and I did, by alot.
I got a time of 1:17:474, which mean I beat my qualifier time by about .440sec's. Not to bad:).
