Making split pea soup in the pressure cooker is a special treat: the peas dissolve into a comforting puree, saving you the nuisance of using a blender. The soup thickens and develops a surface "skin" after standing. Stir well and thin with water or chicken broth, as needed.
When shopping for split peas, look for ones with bright color. Faded peas mean faded flavor.
10 minutes high pressure plus natural pressure release
1 tablespoon butter or oil (needed to control foaming)
2 cups coarsely chopped onions
2 large ribs celery, diced
8 cups water
1 pound (2 1/2 cups) green split peas, picked over and rinsed
1 pound smoked ham steak or pork butt, cut into 1-inch chunks
2 large bay leaves
1 teaspoon salt, plus more if needed
1/2 to 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
Heat butter in a 6-quart or larger cooker. Stir in the onions, celery, water, split peas, ham, bay leaves, and salt.

Lock the lid in place. Over high heat bring to high pressure. Reduce the heat just enough to maintain high pressure and cook 10 minutes. Turn off the heat. Allow the pressure to come down naturally. Remove the lid, tilting it away from you to allow steam to escape.
Remove the bay leaves. Add the thyme (if using) and simmer until its flavor pervades the soup. Stir well, taking care to blend in the peas that have sunk to the bottom. Add additional salt to taste, as much as 1 teaspoon, if needed.

And really this only applies when I'm the target of pit maneuvers.
 
Anyone been practicing on Monza? This Audi has a steep learning curve to get decent lap times. :nervous:
 
I'm may be out for this race-my Vintage series moved to this nite.

Haven't practiced since last Thur after Rome. Best lap w/o draft in practice was 1:43.2.
 
How many laps at Monza? Average racing lap times will probably be around 1.45/1.46.

By Dangits calculations 25 laps should give us around 45 mins. So 25 plus 1?

I'm averaging 1:45s and 46's. Haven't crack into 1:44 but I got the car pretty much stable so my strategy is going to be running consistent laps and minimizing mistakes. Hopefully I get a respectable finish.
 
Just letting you know I'm missing the last race:irked:. And more bad news, I wont be able to race at least until after the new year, just too busy at work and can't get home for races on time. Or have time to practice for that matter. Might be able to jump in here and there if space is available. Thanks for all the hard work DJ:cheers:

We'll miss you Brett. Definately try and race as much as possible with us when you can. After JT's season is over and if STC doesn't start right back up I'll host some "off season" races so I hope you can make it

I'm sorry to hear that, Brett. We all hope you come back as soon as you are able. I may be in a similar situation as my business increases dramatically over the holidays and my hours are sometimes all over the place.

Practice? Some of you guys practice?
 
Really like some of the new cars in the DLC. But it seems like the rushed to get this out and overlooked some things. Most notably no option for an adjustable LSD and you can't change the number on the Nissan GT-R35. Come on really? They had an extra week and still FAIL

All of the content was pushed to our systems with the 2.0 update. We simply just purchased a key to unlock it. The logical step should have been to push out a patch to fix the issues before the key was available. Instead an incomplete product is out until the next patch. Strange how PD would want this to happen. Looks bad.
 
That would be too logical, PD always seems to take 2 steps forward and 1 back. I'm sure they're busy creating outfits and horns. Those are some crazy MF'ers over there. Supposedly they have all kinds of new "content" in the works. I'm really hoping for a pack of 25 Mazda roadsters! And some new seasonal outfits for my driver! A boy can only dream.

Oh! and some more Japanese econobox's would be icing on the cake.

I'm actually hoping for more monotonous button pressing to get to the new content. A half hour to put all the cars in my garage was simply not enough.

And an update for the 27th

"Update Coming October 27th

Just as the North American gamers are getting to grips with yesterday’s DLC addition, Kazunori Yamauchi has announced a game update. The update will address issues gamers have brought up with the Spec 2.0 version of the game released earlier this month:

We will be doing an October GT5 update in North America and Europe, planned for Oct. 27th. This will consist of:

1. Kart Space I/II of the DLC will become drivable with cars other than Karts in the online lounge and free run of Practice
2. Expanded restriction options for cars in the online lounge [Car Restrictions], [Performance Points], [Power], and [Car Model] regulations will be possible to set simultaneously.
3. Fix for issues in: Setting sheets, G25/27, resuming from pits in endurance races, TC car numbers and LSD settings, etc.
Many more minor adjustments have been made, but something like this."
 
I figured the LSD package for the new cars would be a $5 DLC, we had to pay 20% of the cost of the complete game for a few cars and a track. :ouch:

I guarantee they will be exploiting the crap out of this DLC stuff. Make sure you have plenty of KY on hand. :nervous:

And the cars we got were existing car models.
 
Doubt I'll make it tonite unless you guys are running late. Think I'll come by and spectate if I don't make the qualifying. I'm actually in the top 3 in our Vintage Series so I wanna keep up the points.

I think I am going to agree with both Boshuter and Brett on this one.
I mean only 3 tracks and ooooww lighter versions of the same cars....

and yea the price is a bit steep... $39.99 for the game and $11.99 for the pack!!:boggled::eek:

Besides you can play on Spa anytime you like without purchasing it so why should I drop $5 just to do so??:indiff::grumpy::ouch:

I think they might have missed the price point by about $6 or so on the whole pack 💡

that's just my 2 cents worth..

now back to tuning my POS Audi R8!:sick::crazy:

slower load times, inability to join rooms, getting booted out (without getting voted out!):indiff::grumpy:

and my personal favorite:

"Entry refused due to network incompatibility with the room host [749]"

WTF not a good update so far......:grumpy:

Well they almost got it right. There is still no adjustable LSD for the Challenger. One step forward and two steps back. The Kart track is a joke; all the time they spent on making that track they could have added a either a real world track or an updated version of an older original track
