The finalized version of the 6CW will be released at the 2004 Geneva Auto Show where orders will be taken. Expected production is set at six to eight cars a year in a new plant in Verbania.

283.4 kw / 380 bhp @ 6400 rpm
450 nm / 331.9 ft lbs @ 2700 rpm
1150 kg / 2535 lbs
 
Well there was a Honda project car that had 8 wheels but never came into production they said the top speed of that car is very good too. I lost my picture but some of you might have seen it.
 
Anybody remember this chestnut? I built about 3 models of it, and it was my favorite slot car back when I actually cared about F1 racing.

Can you imagine the rear wheel man on a pitstop? Car stops, he looks down, thinks "Waaaaah!!" :D He'll be asking, "Can I get a front wheel next time?"

is there any sort of benefit in a high speed vehicle having 4 wheels up front? Wouldn't that hinder the steering ability?
 
The Tyrrell gained in 2 ways. More front end grip to aid turn in and less aerodynamic drag to aid top speed.

The road car loses the 2nd part as the wheels are encased in bodywork. I don't really see the point in it.
 
Panther 6... Was the first road car claimed to be able to hit 200mph (although it never got close, it was geared for it). And also had 6 wheels...

No, I gave my track and cars away a long time ago. I had a huge, 4-lane HO-scale layout in my basement. We used to run a variety of AFX G-Plus cars, mostly with Formula 1 or CanAm bodies. We also fabricated quite a number of bodies from sheet plastic or using a small vacuum former. We spent days down there running the championships...

It's a very sad, but in a strange way, very fun thing to do.
My dad's mate has built a 4 lane track. So every now and then we go up there have a couple of races, have a couple of beers, have a frew more races, have lots more beers, attepmt to have some more races but can barely see the cars or work the controllers....you get the gneral picture ;) .
Though I did buy my very forst slot car the other day, it was good enough to be a model car. Scalextrix's Tuscan T400R. Im just keeping it in the box. Good model.
 
Yeah, the new large scale cars are beauties. These were little 2" long jobs, and we rain the wheels off 'em, rebuilt 'em, and ran the wheels off again. Mind you it was almost 30 years ago, and beer wasn't an option for us...
 
Oooo I've just seen your pics. Pretty good models, especially if you built them yourself. The Ferrari 312 is nice considering how small it is.:D

If that car (the first one) ever makes it to production, I'm going to get an RPG-7 and keep it in my car for the first time I see one of those monstrosities, and will do the world a favor by removing the eyesore.
