More close racing during qualifying for the GT500 has kept things very interesting here at Suzuka, but can anyone do anything about Austin343's domination of the GT300? Start your engines...

Feel free to discuss sector times, but no full lap times or total race times.

General Information and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me ABud or oldmodelt) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manner.

Hi all, i've just noticed I accidentally left the AI for this round as +5. It's too late to change now so we will stick with it, but next round on will be back to +10.

Busy week. One run each class. Times submitted. Ran @ +10. Not a big difference. Was in 2nd by the 2nd lap. MOV was ? :)

Done my race and was only using mediums. It's real hard though as the track really demands your front tyres a lot but managed to keep the pace consistence. So overall, a tough race but great :)

Time sent. Only had time for one run so im not expecting to challenge at the front, but I was getting quicker all the time while learning the soft tires. Good fun though, but I wish I had more time.

Done mine too, fell off the track at Spoon Curve on the last lap which cost me but there we go. Find Suzuka very frustrating, I always make stupid mistakes here :banghead:

***Times Submitted***

Greetings all -
I have just submitted my times as well.

On my second best race, I almost hit the Renault 5 Maxi Turbo Rally Car '85 on the last lap:scared: It was turned around and was facing me on 130R:eek: I think it had a sand trap excursion.:dunce: You would think that it could handle them since its a rally car. This meant that I was able to put the Renault one lap down at the end of the race:)

Well that's all for now, I must board a plane to New York.

^^^Scratch that, no time left, and tire strategy is being a royal pain.

I missed the deadline! :banghead: I fell asleep while I was watching the nascar race. Sorry guys, but I 'll make sure to submit earlier next race.

I had the same thing in the GT500, except with a chevy c3 race car. it was so bad, it spun and had to pit every second lap!

Try to get a pic to show you how close i was to hittng it.... :)

Yeah I did lapped the Renault... I lapped it on the straight after the 130R but the weird thing is that, it got off the track and slowed down to let me pass I guess then it back up to speed after the Casio chicane...

EDIT : It happened couple of laps before then end of the race...

I watched the replay, and the Renault is the fastest car on the track. You can see it blow by some other the other AI during the race. It has about a 40 more horsepower than most of us, and is way lighter. However, it does not handle the power and it uses up it tires, so obviously its doesn't pose any overall competition. The AI driver must really have his hands full because its all over the track.

Just curious Abud...The Suzuka round is usually an endurance race (1000km in real life), any reason not to have one here?

Not that I'm arguing, I hate Suzuka. I don't think I got one good, error-free lap here. I would botch at least one corner (usually too slow, missed turn-in, etc) on every lap.

Bring on round three!

I have to withdraw my participation, it was fun and you have a great format here, but alas I do not have the time (I am committing to golds in GT4 among other things).

well did not put much in on this one well running at 480 bhp 10 ie so ill have fun in the next one at 500 bhp

Never crossed my mind I guess. One thing I did want was to make this series more different to GTPLMS where Suzuka is an enduro round, I suppose that came into my thinking.

Results will be up when I get home from work.

Interesting results that have just gone up - happy with my GT500 result, but what happened in GT300 :ouch::dunce:

Congrats to both winners and all who raced

I'm happy with my placings. Seeing that I only did one try each. Which is not the norm for me. Got a 1 point in the GT300 class. :) Missed another point in GT500 by 3 secs. :ouch:

Slow guys get to use the NOS next race. Right?

Wow, didnt expect this. I guess the car advantage, east's extra weight, and InsaneRacer's DNF fluked me this win. My stints were RS-RM-RS-RS, with 4 laps on each RS stint and 5 on the RM stint. I was setting 52s in my first stint, so not great, but then I got on the mediums and was right on it, my best on RMs was 1'52.994. On the last two stints with the RS, I was regularly in the 1'51s and set my fastest time on the second to last lap.

Congrats to all finishers and austin fror winning GT300.
