Ok, let's calm down a little. The style these guys are pitching is a valid and proven style. The style I'm proposing is one I've used many times in the past so it is also valid and proven as well. But they are suited for different kinds of leagues and racing, so neither of them is a universal fit. If the dang PSN hadn't been down for so long we would have had this all tested and figured out by now.

In case you haven't noticed, a friend of mine and myself are going to be running the Indy 500 where we will basically be using the more advanced method, but over a 5 day period with an added "bump day". So I'm by no means against it or trying to say it's a bad/flawed system. It's actually good that this is all being discussed now because after a season or two we may have so many drivers that it would be absolutely necessary to have qualifiers and different divisions. It's actually gotten my creative juices flowing for the future!

It seems like there is a lot of interest in this so it makes it seem like the qualifiers may be necessary. But I know that just because 16 people say they're going to show up doesn't mean they all will. I'll have the registration sheet up tomorrow so we can see how many people we'll have and go from there.

I'll be honest, part of the reason I've been resistent to the advanced qualifying is because this is my first time doing this and I know there is going to be more to running the league than I think. So I'm trying to prepare in advance for the unforseen issues we'll run into by making sure my plate isn't too full and I don't get overloaded or burnt out. If we're simple and flexible we can adapt easier. So once we get the PSN back we'll be able to get our race on and start moving forward. 👍

I'm working on the new thread now. Do any of you guys know how to "hyper-link" something? I'm going to post a tune for the Capp, but instead of pasting the whole link I'd like to just put "Capp Tune" and when you click on it you will be taken to the link. Make sense? I'm on a Mac, not sure if that makes any difference, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. That makes it a link you can click on but it still shows the whole thread address. How can I make it so I can type "Capp Tune" and when you click on that it takes you to the thread? Like diabolicwyvern did on the first page when he linked to the first Capp series. It's not really a big deal, just trying to keep the clutter to a minimum.

I'm working on the official/sign-up thread now, we already have a large number of people interested. So now we're pretty much just waiting for the PSN to be restored so we can get things going. According to the most recent reports we could still be as much as a week away from having service restored.

Here it is guys, the official thread! I tried to add everybody that seemed interested to the registration list, let me know if I missed anybody. If I left anything out let me know and I'll update it. And don't forget to vote on day/time. We already have 18 people interested so I'm going to try to run 2 days like the original series did. I've listed 6 options that fit with my schedule, I'll go with the top 2 and run identical races on those days.
