Just wanted to share my findings with everyone. Took both cars to Suzuka Circuit, no oil changes. Only modification was the addition of SH tires. That's it.

Specs taken from the garage after purchase:

'95
63 hp / 6,500 rpm
76 ft-lb / 3,500 rpm
690 kg / 339 pp

'91
62 hp / 6,500 rpm
63 ft-lb / 4,000 rpm
700 kg / 326 pp

By numbers alone, the '95 has this in the bag. Let's find out by how much...

So there you have it. A whopping 2 seconds between the two at Suzuka. That's actually quite a big chunk of time.

In 2 years, the Cappuccino will be legal to import into the USA. I'd love to own a '91 with the '95 engine!

Bonus cockpit cam replay of the '95!

The only NA I've done is the '89 premium. I'm running out of cars to test so your wish might come true lol

I think there are like ten NA Miatas at least, counting the two Premium ones. If you're up to the task that might give really interesting results.

Thanks to you, I just knocked out the Mazda Eunos Roadster J-Limited (NA) '91 premium. Compared with the '89 Eunos premium, it's 2.5 seconds slower, with 7 fewer PP and weighs 10 kg more. Not sure why the J-Limited would be THAT much slower...I tried my best!

I'll make an all-Miata Suzuka comparison thread sometime this week.
