Is this car glitched or buggy?

I tried to do the willow springs seasonal with my cappuccino but was 3 seconds off getting gold and i was pushing it, then I looked at the leaderboard and everyone was using this car so I thought why not get it so I can gold this event.

When I tried it, it was quite fast for a car running sport hard tires and it felt odd.

I feel this car needs a PP fix, it's too fast for a 450PP racer, but I don't know about what people think about recalculating the PP of a car that's already very good.

If you want to find a good competitor, you can use a power-limited (detuned) Ruf RGT.

Well, it's pretty much a motorcycle on four wheels. Some people seem to think that PD should restrict using it in seasonals but I don't really care as I'm not targeting the top spots. I personally golded the Willow Spring seasonal quite comfortably with Lotus Evora. I think having the Suzuki as a back-up plan is nice.

It is beginning to be a pain in the 450-500pp TT's. It's almost week after week for me as I do love these lower pp TT's.

The whine of the engine week after week is annoying but if you want to race in the top 5% of these TT's then you're forced to use it. It is a fun car to drive though ;)

However if they do change the pp calculation for it then it will just be replaced with something else.

What PD need to do is have specific cars in the weekly TT's or have more restrictions on them to make us use different cars.

Well... with its design, its obvious its gonna be very fast. Like the KTM X-Bow, they are cars designed to go fast on corners and forget about the practicality. They're like a big go-kart, and very light aswell. So no, not glitched. Simply the fastest around 450-500pp.

I feel an interesting mission brewing.

Finding another car at 450pp that can catch it.

Not sure what you mean by glitched, OP? It's a very fun & very fast car (in its PP range). I love driving it and it's never felt odd to me. Although I've had it race tuned for such a long time I forget how it handles when it is stock.

Well, that obviously depends on which track. In very fast tracks like Monza or La Sarthe, the GSX-R/4 has no chance against other cars.
For example, the Mitsubishi Mirace Cyborg, tuned to 450pp is so damn fast on the straights. Also the Lancia stratos is really fast on the straights although its hard to drive. The Ferrari Dino and the Toyota 2000 are other two very fast 450pp cars that could beat the Suzuki in certain tracks.

Well I would be looking at the tracks where its use it or go home. Then chase it down on those. Goal being find a competitor for those TT that's a different car.

It simply does not belong in the 450-500pp category. There's no arguing against that. Everyone uses it in seasonals. Nothing can hold a candle to it. The 450 and 500pp seasonal have become very boring because of that car. If no 500pp car is remotely close, it is simply not a 500pp car. No other cars in it's weight class feel like that on hards. I haven't used that car in a seasonal once. It is a BS car. The KTM, the LLC rocket, etc. - they can't get near the gsxr, when all are tuned properly. that car has effectively ruined 500pp seasonals.

I tried FF, FR and AWD in the willow springs and on turn 4 I could do about 75km/h max without running off on sport hard, with the GSX-R I did 85km/h with little tire squeal
It feels that the PP for that car is too low or it is buggy in the way it handles.

I'm curious as to the tire width in a gt6 picture. I'll have to check it out.

GSX-R/4 has Front 185 & Rear 195

Its quite quick. I'm still getting used to it so its competitive with another car of mine until I get faster with it. All stock at 499pp after an oil change and adjusted brake balance.

It's unique, a concept car made from the fastest production motorcycle. That is why no other car feels like it.

Are all the other seasonals also ruined because a certain car is faster than others?

Do you think Mercedes has ruined Formula 1?

Yes, any seasonal that is utterly dominated by a single car is ruined in my opinion. 650pp seasonals that allow the 2J, for example.

Yes, it's pretty boring to see one team run away from all of the other teams in every single race, there's little fun in knowing which team will lap most of the field before they've even driven on to the starting grid.

Seeing a variety of equal ability competitors fighting it out in any form of sport is better than seeing one person/team who seems to be in a league of their own, while everyone else fights to be the first loser.

Comparing this car to Light Car Company Rocket, Caterham 7, and KTM Xbow, maybe it is.

Meh each one is bound to get a car that plays into the pp a little better than others. Its the nature of the beast. They should work to find a pp level / car entry list that has a compatative field, but they are probably working at it but it requires data from you guys running Seasonals for them to figure out that stuff.

Ah I see what you're saying, thank you for answering! It is too bad PD doesn't differentiate between 'normal' street cars and experimental/one-off cars instead of relying solely on PP. I know I'm always put off when there is a 'classic' car race and a Chaparral is in the field.

No...what other continuous seasonal is ruined/dominated by a single car? None that are constant events. Just make a gsxr seasonal for cripes sake. Bottom line is - it is not a 500pp car. I don't care how it drives. That is irrelevant as to whether it is a 500pp car. I figure you like the gixxer, that's all.

Let's move on to f1, being that I am an avid fan of over two decades. Merc has been dominating for a half season. It is too early to speak of them and their impact on the sport.

But, let's look at RBR. They, in fact HAVE ruined f1 at the moment. The only thing this season has had going for it is some pretty good racing at some points. Other than that - because of redbull, every team other than one or two wanted to start with a clean slight and it screwed everything. You can't hear the cars, aero regs are even tighter now, they get five motors a season, the cars legit need to be shut off and turned back on sometimes and it solves computer issues aboard, etc., etc. If redbull hadn't dominated for four years, we would have faster cars. We wouldn't be left watching cars with toy engines compared to the past, we would hear them, they'd corner faster, they wouldnt look like ant eaters, they'd have money to spend on development...it just never stops. Take red bull out of that equation and the cars would probably be as fast as the 2004 cars. FYI, everyone had to stop running FRIC recently, because McLaren complained that merc may have a dominatent system. Things like that add up.

Current state of F1 is a direct result of RBR dominance. Go read opinions of how fans feel about the changes and why they came about.

In this case, PD can just up the base PP of the car, so no rule changes need to be applied.

A 550pp seasonal at Ascari was completely dominated by the KTM X-Bow, which is similar but more powerful.
The thing they should do to the Suzuki is stop classifying it as a "normal car", its just a concept that never made it into mass production.

Domination, way-to-go RBR.
No doubt they worked hard for it, but it did unfortunately ruin things for the moment in quite a sense.

Ok, so it dominated one seasonal. Doesn't go like that with every 550pp, that's for sure.

The nature of the Beast, just look at NASCAR, it used to be Race on Sunday, buy on Monday. Nowadays good luck even finding a V8 or a single part as an option on the street version.

Imagine if all the cars were equal. Then it would be up to the drivers to race each other on equal terms.

That sounds a lot like the seasonal events you are complaining about with everyone using the same dominant car.

Unless you just want to watch the cars race each other. Do you like B-spec?

The GSX/R4 has always been like this. I remember I used it against group C cars at Tsukuba wet in GT4. Easy win.

We don't know how they calculate PP - not really. But I'm pretty sure that their calculation included the Gixxer.
I'm also fairly certain that it's dominant because of PP-limit and track specified by PD. At tight, twisty tracks, its low weight - and the fact that you can strap a functional wing on it - will dominate.

Downforce is not included in the PP calculus, remember? That is why the 2J dominates its PP territory aswell. Very low weight, and enormous downforce, mostly from the ground effect from the fan, wich seems to be non-adjustable.

The 2J dominated in Gran Turismo 5 when downforce was part of PP.

Also the Suzuki improves A LOT if you put the maximum amount of ballast (200kg) because then the PP decrease a lot and you can add much more power. The optimal for this car at 500pp is to put the maximum power (oil change included) and then reduce PP by adding ballast. it should have about 270hp and weigh a bit more than 800kg.

Looks like the problem is the Cappuccino rather than the GSX. Without having tested it I'm guessing that the problem is the engine size. 650cc isn't a lot, I imagine you need to get up to the peak revs before it starts delivering any power. Add a bit of turbo lag and you'll get poor acceleration. It could also be a matter of weight distribution, a mid-engine car is usually better at tight cornering.

Or perhaps a bit of both... the Suzuki is designed to be an uber fast car without compromise, its a concept car, doesnt follow road legal regulations... and on the other hand the capuccino is just a kei car, not designed to be uber fast... and also follows the road legal car regulations and so on.
