After over two year’s absence, Suzuki Swifts Sports Cup - Season 4 is here! After 3 successful seasons we’re back for the 1st running of the Swifts on GT6.

Formally known as the Suzuki Swift Challenge, This 6-race series now has quite a following due to its simple tuning regulations, close racing, great drivers and friendly banter.

There are as always two races per meeting with a shorter “Sprint Race” and then a longer “Feature Race” that is a reverse grid event. Also this season is an introduction of success horse power penalty. The better your result the more BHP you lose. This is calculated on a meeting by meeting basis.

Swifts Season 2 - Champion - DaxCobra
Swifts Season 3 - Champion - Carbonox

Part time #54 . What in the world of handicapping systems is this though? :scared:  My my Ed! :scared:

Uhm, 40hp restriction for a 170hp-engine...? That must be the equivalent of several seconds per lap. I mean, nothing against the concept as such, but I think you might be overdoing it. Then again, I'm sure you tested it ... what's the approximate time penalty you get with -40hp on a full lap?

Its not as bad as you think. -40 BHP Is about 1.5 - 2 seconds a lap at RBR short course, but you Pro drivers are about that much faster that us Am drivers anyway.

I'll see how it pans out

@FlyingFox : Tested at Brands Hatch Indy and Rome:

170hp: 55.9 1:27.0
160hp: 56.1 1:27.3
155hp: 56.3 1:27.5
150hp: 56.4 1:28.2
145hp: 56.7 1:28.8
140hp: 56.8 1:29.5
130hp: 57.4 1:30.5

So, for a 12-lap race at Rome that means you get a hefty 42s penalty (roughly equal to half a lap).

That's a bit much in my opinion. If you bear in mind that in low powered vehicles with no tuning the differences between drivers are very small to begin with, and even with 20hp less you cannot overtake anyone anymore, because you're too far away before the braking zone, you probably won't have to bother showing up, if you won the last race.

From the above times I agree with @raceorama123432 about the 25hp (if not 20).

But basically you could leave that open and look at the results of the first qualifying and race, to see how big the spread is in the field, and adapt the restrictions accordingly.

I'm in! :D

Schedule looks good Ed! 👍 :D

OP has been updated:

Unfortunatly the street circuit in Rome would not be ready in time so Matterhorn will now host the opening round of this season.

@snowgt has been testing the BHP success penalty and in his expert opinion it was just too much so the HP penalty has now been reduced.

Then chances are you did something wrong.
I thought that this is my mistake but I build second Swift with OP spec and it's showing 173 HP ( HP,not BHP )
I think this can be due to HP-BHP because when I build TOCA Clio Cup car I've also got more hp than OP spec ( 224 instead of 220 )
