Hi all, just a question which occurred to me whilst browsing the funny pics thread. Apparently we have a swear filter on the Forum now? I wasn't aware of this as I moderate my language, but could anyone confirm if we DO in fact have a filter?

There has been a swear filter for ages. Since I joined at least.

What the ****? there is? Damn I thought that **** would have caught out a bitch like me!

Edit: So I guess it only filters out the "worse" ones. Like ****.

The swear filter can be beat, but im not going to tell you how to do it.........for less than an active US Chromeline DLC code.

And shortly after you beat the filter, your post is edited, and some fine print in green appears on the bottom of said post.

Eventually yes. But at first all you see when you swear is this : ***** all your **** bla bla ******.

Ban him! :p

Seriously though, I had no idea we had a swear filter. I thought everyone censored it manually.

Be advised that not only do we have a swear filter, we also have moderators who take a very dim view of people trying to get around it.

You're abso:censored:lutely correct, Bob.

It is in the AUP agreed to when registering, and therefore enforced by the staff.

Speaking of swear filter..

Can the word swap to "love" be had? (like in GTP Chat)?

For example,

"**** this place!" can become "Love this place!"

You should be thankful this site hasn't implemented the Gran Turismo/Sony swear filter.

That is such a lovely idea. It's a complete pile of love.

I've seen that done before. Depending on the word it can change. The S word would become "poopy", others would be different etc.
