Frankly I'm boared by all this talk of a pandemic. I don't doubt the world's governments will make a pig's ear of it all.

It's clearly Barak Obama's fault. He shouldn't have gone with that 'you can put lipstick on a pig' line - clearly someone in Mexico did.

I think they'll be scratching their heads about what to do about it if it gets much worse.

I hate to be a ham, but too much technical information is like casting pearls before swine.

Clearly this all started with hogs and kisses. I think we should all just hold hams, relax and root and holler when this is all over.

I hope nothing bad happens to The Church of Swinetology because of all this...

The U.S. Department of Health needs to go whole hog into stopping the outbreak, because even if my daughter's sick, I want my baby back, baby back.

This has turned into a good thread. If you just read the title, you might think it's a bit boaring.

Snout boaring about this thread, that's for sure...

I've had all of the strains of "normal" flu. I know this because I came down with 'flu aged 11, 12, 14, 16 and 17 and haven't had it since, despite working in places where I could, quite frankly, catch all sorts of things.

If I contract this new strain, then ONOES I might be ill for a week. Good way to lose some weight I suppose, but I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep worrying about it :odd:

I think I have had the swine flu....

I had Diarreah and vomitting for 2 days...two times already. The first time was the week after spring break. Then 1 1/2 week(s) latter I had it again. It was probaly the peporoni from some pizza(peporoni= pig).
I'm all good now but the pain was soo much..that I prefer to cut of my right hand and never drive stickshift again!(yes, it was that bad).

Diarrhea and vomiting for 2 whole days? You're lucky you're not dead.

Tell me about it, i mean ive had 3 lots of chest infections after open heart surgery with IV drips around the clock pumping in anti-biotics (so strong they were colapsing my viens so, had to get the drips re entered in another spot) as well as doctors cutting my fresh scar tissue to clean the puss out of the wounds, all at the age of 12. (This is what i call a life threatening sickness)

Man after reading how serious the swine flu symptoms are, i dont think i can cope!!!

You can't get the flu from eating something, if you got anything from pepperoni it would have been food poisoning.

This crap has been blown way up by the media, everyone is acting like its a super virus that will kill you without even infecting you....

I'm just confused about what authority Roger Daltrey has in this situation? "The WHO has increased threat levels." Is he even qualified as a doctor?

Always trust Daltrey on medical matters. He found a man who could bring us all joy, there's a doctor he's found could cure the boy! He lives in this town, let's see him tomorrow!

I phoned up NHS 24 to ask about symptoms, but all I got was crackling.

Heh, one of the chefs got a text at about 8 tonight (we had just finished service, thanks to a whooping 17 people in the restaurant), he said he'd got a completely random text from his Mum with the above in the text. He was a bit slow to get it. :D

You mean it isn't?

What do you mean? Even the government, in what I assume is an effort to calm scared Americans, has said that people will die!

Trying to calm people by confirming their worst fears doesn't seem like a particularly effective strategy to me. Especially as the wording that was used came off as "Don't worry. Only some of you will die."

I have a feeling the stereotypical hygiene conditions and healthcare network in Mexico have quite a lot to do with their deaths from this flu. People die from regular flu all the time when they're immune system is down in the dumps beforehand or if they don't take the right steps to fight it off. Anyone could die from it under the right circumstances.

I'm not sure why this has become such a big story from Mexico. Are flu viruses rare down there? I mean they've got enough crazy diseases you'd think would be in the news more often, but the flu? Come on. Just rest, stay warm, drink tons of water and Gatorade and juice and whatnot.

I'm curious, what "crazy diseases" are you referring to?
