And last, but certainly not least...

Completed right arm and the WIP left arm (almost completed).

Giving the thumbs up.

And with that, it's back to work. I'm far from being even 50% done.

Early update...

20qdlds.jpg

Got the left arm and both shoulder armor pieces done today, and it took all day.

Am I done you ask?

Yeah, right.

Late Update...

Base 00 Gundam completed. Almost.

Close up on the awesome that is known as 00.

Close up of one of the docked GN Drives.

The first action pose. The first of many to come.

Same pose but with both GN Drives on. Something I've noticed today is the drives actually have a timer to conserve energy for the energy, they'll only stay on for about 30 or so seconds.

That is very impressive. 👍
Though, there is something that has always bugged me about many Japanese kits (mostly mecha though) and that is the "odd" scaling. 1/100 and 1/60 scales aren't normal among modeling, at least as far as I know... lol

Well, we're talking about mobile suits (Gundams) that range from 50 feet (more or less) to 100+ feet, so the scaling is accurate if you look at it this way...

1/100 means you would need 99 more to have the accurate (or nearly accurate) height of the actual mobile suit.

1/144 means the same, but you would need 143 more.

1/60 same; 59 more.

1/72 (a rare scale mostly used for G-System and other such resin kits) same; 71 more.

The Psyco Gundam has an overall height of 41 meters in mobile suit mode, which translates to 134.51 feet; at current it's only been released in 1/144 HGUC scale, so as you would imagine it's already as tall as nearly every Perfect Grade Gundam kit around, and it's only in 1/144.

Imagine how much bigger it'd become (and expensive) if they released it in 1/100 and 1/60. Good lord to the latter.

The reason I wonder this is because I build scale model airplanes, which are usually 1/48, 1/72, and 1/48 scale. And aircraft, like Gundams vary in size. I have a 1/48 scale CH-53E Super Stallion, which is a 99 ft long aircraft. While it is huge, it isn't mega big like this one other kit I want, a 1/48 scale B-1B Lancer, which is a nearly 150 ft long aircraft :p
Most of my 1/48 scale aircraft are fighters, which in 1/48 scale are around 12-16" long. 1/72 scale fighter aircraft are around 8" long. I dunno, I guess coming from aircraft and car models, 1/100 and 1/60 just seem sorta odd :sly:

Ah. Gundam models go according to height, air crafts go according to length.

Hm. Apples and Oranges, I suppose. :sly:

And of course Sword mode for melee combat.

Nice update. The huge GN sword from Exia is so much cooler. Should have gave 00 two of 'em.

Well, you've got the Raiser Sword, which is the GN Sword III on GN steroids. :p

And now for the weapons...

Both GN Sword II weapons in Rifle mode.

This one I can't explain as it's never been used in the anime before (at least not from what I can remember) it's both GN Sword II weapons combined. Perhaps in the upcoming movie?

Over. Kill.

Perhaps they combine to make a mega beam saber? :odd:

A closer look at both GN Sword's separated with the beam pieces inserted.

Side view, getting a closer look at the GN Sword III in rifle mode.

Rear view. Yes, it's heavy and it does make the upper body tilt a bit backward, but despite all of that it can support it's own weight without a hitch once you get a proper spacing between the legs and you having the ankles tilted forward enough to evenly distribute the weight from the backpack.

More to come!!

Wow man you put alot of detail into those paint jobs. How many hours did it take to paint the strike?

Good question. I think the basic coat took only a few hours, but then all the dry-brushing and damage detail probably took me a total of 10 hours or more.

I didn't work on this thing everyday like I have my previous ones. On this one I would go a few days between sessions because of other things going on at the time.

Love the great effort everyone has put into making their gunplas. the PG 00 raiser is just awesome, I've started building it and hope to finish it soon.

So, it's been a while since I've updated this thread of mine....so let's get right to it, shall we?

I've actually had this since my PG 00 Gundam/0-Raiser arrived since it was a free gift for spending the equivalent of replacing one's own kneecap, but for some reason I've never taken any pictures of it until now. So, what we have here is a Zeonography series GFF (Gundam Fix-Figuration) model of the AMX-004-2 and the AMX-004G Qubeley Mk. II; the former being a custom-colored variant especially for Elpeo Puru, based off of the original piloted by Haman Karn. The latter (4G) is a mass-production variant. On to the photoz....

I'll update again real soon as I'll be picking up a wealth of models, just don't know what I want yet....

Nice stuff!

On my end I just finished my MG Musha MkII.

More pics and the WIP on my blog.

I saw that when I remembered you had a blog just before I updated the thread. Excellent work there. 👍

I'm actually still working on the 00 (painting and whatnot) but for the most part I don't really want to change the entire color scheme, just touch up a few pieces with some white and some gunmetal gray. While I was looking though my MG models, I saw my Alex and GM Custom and got the craziest awesome idea (that would require me to buy two completely new models) to make my own GM Custom using parts from both.

In any case I'll upload a couple of pictures later on today concerning the current status of my 00.
