So, just as I've said...more pictures of the now completed (well, no, not really) Perfect Grade 00 Gundam, currently in 00 Raiser guise.
Team photo with the Red Frame Astray, and the 00 giving the thumbs up; you'll noticed that the armor pieces on the side of the 00's thighs have been painted white for more of a flush color effect.
It stands out just a bit as I didn't have the proper white to use, but it'll suffice for the time being until I can pick up some new paints and what have you.
Self-explanatory picture is self-explanatory. Looks a bit rough from the sanding, which is an easy fix.
-Shakes head- What a lie.
I'd say about a measly 5% of the model has been detailed to date, mostly due to the fact I'm still undecided whether or not I want to paint it or just leave it as is and simply fill in the detail lines and apply the decals.
What do you think?
An enlarged picture to give a good look at the 97% completed model, check out that detailed head. Sexy.
Another up-close shot of the Gundam with super robot attributes. I honestly can't imagine how the 00 Quanta is going to outdo this in any fashion whatsoever, but I'll find all of that out next month!
Anyway back to model - see the red orb piece? I'm thinking of painting the left and right halves yellow to flow with the antennae, leaving only the center to be transparent red.
Think that could work out?
This angle says "Oh, hai! So, here's the thing...I'm going to kill you now, so, just sit still and shut up."
So, here I sit watching as my camera regains the very essence of it's battery-ignited life, turning my head to the side and observing the pieces that comprise the PG Wing Gundam Zero (Or, Wing Zero Custom for those of you who wish not to be confused) and I remember how young I was when I first picked up this model (and wrecked some parts of it) and not too long ago, I picked up a brand new one, replacing that of the old and now because it's old age it is slowly withering awa.....oh, to hell with this poetic introduction - let's get some pictures uploaded!
This first round is pretty much all that was left of the battery would allow, so, until it's recharged these will have to suffice.
You'll have to excuse any nubs you see from hereon out, as I was still a big n00b as far as all of that went. If you're asking what a "nub" is, it's the leftover piece of plastic from the runner when it's clipped from said runner.
Look at that detail though!
Has one of the most flexible frames to date.
Showing off the endoskeleton for the right leg; this remains the only PG to date that uses a good deal of die cast pieces for superior stability.
Rear-view of the right leg. See that spring? Go back two pictures where the articulation is shown, that spring is what allows the knee/joint to bend back as far as it does.
Top-view of the knee joint articulation.
More articulation. Awesome, is it not?
Ankle articulation. Just when you think the bending is over, no, it can bend some more.
Left leg over a rather naked right leg.
The lonesome foot.
Side-view of the right foot.
Rear-view.
Bottom. Getting tired of looking at the foot? Don't worry, we're moving on...
...To the naked foot! Notice the ankle bits flapping away?
So, as I've currently strayed away from updating the last of the Wing Zero pictures, but this isn't about that. No, this is about what's to come from ever-populated world of Gunpla. Last year an entirely new PG model was announced: The 00 Gundam and O-Raiser. In that same year the Red Frame Astray was also released using the previously released (in '04) PG Strike Gundam as a base. Now, this coming December comes another PG from the Cosmic Era, my absolute least favorite of the alternate timeline series'. This time from SEED Destiny, no, not the Destiny Gundam...but the Strike Freedom.
(Credit to Ngee Khiong, a blog I frequent daily for this type of stuff)
So, it comes down to the following: Am I happy that they're giving the Strike Freedom the PG treatment? Yes and no, mostly no though. Why? Plenty of reasons....
...That spot could have gone to the RX-0, RX-78NT-1 (which, by the way, I've sent a request in for several dozen times) the F91, the Tallgeese (I, II, or III, take your pick), Exia, 00 Qan[T], Kyrios, Gouf Custom, etc, etc, etc. From the looks of the schematics it looks to be using a modified version of the Strike's frame, although to a greater revamped extent than the Red Frame previously dealt with. That's not really a problem though. With Gundam UC's second episode on the way, and A Wakening of the Trailblazer next month on the 18th, well, it seems like this was possibly in the works either during or directly after the 00 Gundam and 0-Raiser was decided upon. The one very, very interesting thing about this is it's being re-designed by Katoki for it's PG incarnation, and judging by the lineart thus far...it seems to be another looker, just as the re-designed Strike was for it's PG release; although I never understood the purpose of the Grand Slam Sword.....
Anywho, I'm looking forward to December and I fully expect this to either be as expensive as the 00 Gundam and 0-Raiser ($200+) or as expensive as the GP01/GP01-Fb and Zeta Gundam ($250+) or somewhere in-between.
So, I still haven't got my hands on the Strike Freedom PG; I have however gotten my hands on the MG 00 Qan[T] (and a few others) and since I haven't updated this thread since the thirty-first of August I figured why not do so now?
