For NASCAR...no. PD had them in trailers from a while ago, and if anything it's the other way around.

As for customization...nobody will know. GT5's been in development long enough that if, by chance, you managed to get a document detailing what happened when, and how it progressed, you head would simply bacon.

The first Trailer showing nascar in GT5 was released the day after Forza 3 was announced.
So, no, Like TBR427 said, it was probably the other way around.
Kaz did say he included Nascar to introduce the rest of the world to American Motorsports.

Whats that? Is that FM3??

Are the lights and the front some texture?

Those Forza stock cars don't look very good to me. Maybe its the all gray and black scheme, something does not look right to me.

I believe theyre supposed to be.. the lights are stickers on Nascars aren't they? *well from the few nascar races I've seen*

From what i hear there is no Official NASCAR cars, only stock cars (hence the blank liveries), i had a good chuckle at Cars On Disc 1 and Cars On Disc 2, do they seriously have to switch discs to go from a Maserati to a Nissan?

I'm glad they are textures since in real life the headlights are stickers:

To use disk 2 you need to install it, or play the game without 3 tracks and some cars.

Omg, you're so clever.

No, disk 2 holds 3 tracks, and a large number of cars for you to download onto your Xbox, if you choose so. Whether you choose to do so or not, everything is played on disc 1. :)

 at the headlights on the stock cars comment!

Nobody outside of America watches Nascar so it's funny when they realize that stock cars don't have headlights!

And if you choose not to do so, or are simply unable to do so because you bought the Arcade, you don't get to use those cars or tracks at all, correct?
That's Microsoft 101 for you! :p I do wonder why they decided to make a 360 SKU with no hard drive at all. :boggled:

I was indeed shocked when I saw a Nascar for the first time at Universal, this was in my Nascar hate stage so seeing the fake headlights was reassurance for me at the time that Nascar sucked :sly:

I'm no hater any more by the way. :)

Same reason some of the original PS3's lacked the additional 2 USB ports (although that in itself is stupid, plain and simple), no backward compatibility, and the flash card reader thingy - to save money. :p

It did have a flash card reader at the beginning of time, didn't it?

All PS3s had 4 USBs and PS2 backwards compatibility until the 40GB came out.
They also had a card reader except for the 20GB system, which was only available in the US and Japan.

Correct, unfortunately.

If you want everyone on Disc 2, you just need 2 free GB.

To make money, of course.

When the X360 came out, as I recall, the Arcade model didn't have any memory storage of any kind. It was just console, controller, and maybe 2 other things. But MS knew if you squeezed out an extra $100 for the Premium, you'd get everything & more for the price.

It was a pretty good marketing strategy, honestly, because the Premium model did throw in some freebies when you looked at the price of everything.

Wowzers. According to this, the 2nd disc contains 104 cars and 29 tracks. That means the poor schmucks that bought an Arcade are missing almost a third of the content, and the Arcade is actually the most popular model, according to MS.

Without Nürburgring Nordschleife to be exactly.

^ Indeed. That's just mean. If you must keep some tracks in disk two, then so be it. But not the ring! I mean it's the ring man! Well... a distorted/badly modeled version of the ring (a.k.a ellipse ) but still! It's by far the most entertaining track ever created by mankind and it will be inaccessible for many in disk two...

By the way, have they fixed that ellipse and made it into a proper ring already or we will be left with the "original version"?

I can't confirm, but according to a few, the 'Ring as a whole does still look the same, but that Turn10 have been trying to retouch up many problem areas. One of the latest videos I saw, showed an in-car view going around the Karussell, and it didn't really look that huge anymore.

But, we'll have to see.

About the NASCAR part, I was talking about that T10 has the older cars in the screenshots. Do you think that, since PD has a NASCAR license, they will try to have the classic cars in the game?

The tracks are the same. Completelly the same.
If you look at Laguna Seca in reallity you will notice corners are painted in RED/WHITE/RED/WHITE and so on.
Since 2007 (or 2006) the colour is BLUE/WHITE/BLUE/WHITE.

So the don't even worry about the details like this one, and leave the track like it was when the create Forza Motorsport 2.

OH, certainly, you are right:

But for example, on Gran Turismo PSP, these Laguna Seca piano stripes remain red/white too. If these details don't change in GT5 I won't surprise.

Polyphony, probably, will change Suzuka on GT5, because is in their country and the reforms taken on it were important (exits, buildings...). But I'm not sure they are going to make another tour over the world to check every track since GT4, only for minor details. I would like it, obvously, but I don't think they see that profitable.

So, I'm not going to blame Turn 10 for the same thing.

The cars in F3 aren't older, they are simply just late models instead of the COT cars the Sprint Cup uses.

I don't think it's too hard for a guy at PD to change the color pattern of the rumble strips, or shoulder whatever they are called things.

I didn't think it would be hard for PD to delete the King Dome from the Seattle Circuit. It was demolished in 2000 but appeared in GT3 and GT4.

800px-

and to think that they spent all thay time modeling Safeco Field...

It must be harder than we think to remove or change things once they are developed.
