Thrustmaster T3PA 110€
TrustMaster T300RS 350€ TOTAL 460€

OR

ThrustMaster T500RS TOTAL 417€

OR ANY OTHER????

Opinions?

It comes down to preference of how the FFB feels, plus a couple of other things.

T500:
- fixed paddles, 30cm diameter rim.
- 25% more powerful FFB.
- more resistance turning the wheel, less easy to flick the wheel around holding slides (holding slides is obviously possible, just more challenging than T300 and probably more realistic)
- nice progressive feeling of weight, big dynamic range of forces.
- proven technology, good reliability.
- not full PS4 support (works in all current and announced future games but not in menus)

T300:
- moving paddles, 28cm diameter rim.
- 25% less powerful FFB.
- less resistance turning the wheel (comparable to a G25/27 but without the cog feel), very easy to flick the wheel around to drift and hold slides.
- lightness of the wheel feels less progressive than the T500, but on the other hand you can feel smaller forces better (more "nuance"). Similar dynamic range but it starts softer and goes less "loud" than the T500.
- still quite a few guys buying new T300s and having issues, so if you are unlucky you might have issues.
- full PS4 support.

I use my T300 when I want to drift or drive fast modern race cars, or when looking for the absolute fastest laptimes (most control). I use my T500 when I want to run road cars, rally cars, or vintage race cars.

So? Which one in your opinion? I can only have one. Do you think the pedals upgrade+TH8RS is a good choise? :>

The T300 is most versatile for racing all kinds of cars. I guess I'd go for that, plus decent pedals, if I had to choose. But I would be perfectly happy with just the T500 too.

TH8A with 3 pedals is great with either wheel.

Which kind of games you play online? iRacing / Asseto Corsa or Project Cars?

I want to buy Asseto Corsa or Project Cars. Which one is better?

Hi Geaper, I have the exact same predicament as you! Time to upgrade my G27 but can't decide between a T300RS GTE or T500RS. I am swinging more to the T300 as with the difference in price I could get the Ferrari F1 rim and a TH8A Shifter (I don't need new pedals as got modified G27 ones reverse mounted to my rig).

As for games, here are my thoughts;

For a reasonable amount of content and nice shiny graphics and features, try Project CARS. It looks good, sounds good but is a Simcade. Some cars and tracks are much better than others. However, there are more set-up options (for both wheel FFB and the Cars themselves) than I've ever seen on any racing game so with a bit of time and tweaking you may find a decent game lurking beneath the somewhat disappointing first impression it gives you.

Fun but flawed.

Assetto Corsa has really, really good FFB and 'feel' once you dial in your FFB / wheel settings, but lacks features and content (You can add community made MODS. There are a few MODS which are as good as the official content). It simulates some good real life aspects (tyres & suspension especially) but you will find yourself doing a lot of solo hot-lapping as the AI is utterly rubbish. The plus side are the laser scanned circuits = FANTASTIC!

Brilliant to drive but a bit boring.

iRacing hands down wins the multiplayer / Online contest. It can be perceived as expensive but it's a whole lot of fun racing wheel to wheel with some genuinely quick and like minded sim racers. Takes time to progress up the licenses (weeks / months) but it's the closest you will get to feeling like a real racing driver. None of this "I'll drive whatever car I want on whatever track I want..." It's about putting in the hours to practice for that upcoming race and feeling like you've had the race of your life despite only finishing.... 6th or something!

Exciting but expensive in terms of time and money.
