I just learned that its much faster to use the T9 mode rather than the multi-tap mode wherein I have to click a key more than once just to find a letter to complete a word. Id rather use predictive texting (T9) rather than the ABC mode.👍

Yep T9 is over half a decade old. Personally I prefer writing my messages on the screen ;). Other than that I prefer non-predictive texting because I often have to send messages that T9 struggles with.

One of the good features of my current phone (and no doubt countless others) is that it favours words that you use often when in T9 mode. If, for example, you type "home" more often than "good" it'll re-arrange the default word to "home". Saves you having to waste time scrolling through words you don't often use. We had to write a T9 application in Java for uni in 2nd year, it was quite interesting seeing what's involved in the technology.

even my nokia 3410 has it and its very old model I tell you, mono-tone, black and white srceen. but i prefer the letter by letter method I'm used to that.

[hijack]Sounds like you are getting a much better education than I am :grumpy: In a masters class the only assignments we do are so painfully simple...[/hijack]

My mom used to have a 1.5 inch cell phone that had that feature. The cell phone was from a company I have never heard from and it wasn't a flip.

What if you regularly tell people that you have a good home?

I use T9 more than mortal character selection. I just don't have time in my busy life to select letters and put them into a cohesive order.

On pay as you go, at 12p a text and 20p a min to talk. I find it easier to just call someone rather than fiddling with texts.
