I just saw this in an e-mail, so I uploaded it and here it is. Take note at what is actually happening in the picture...

 I was gonna post this but forgot. Its drifting and no its not a beginner I saw it in some magzine. So yes its true.
I knew it was supposed to be drifting. . . I just didn't know about the driver, and I kinda figured he was a beginner, considering his, uhh, judgement (. . . or lack-thereof). But, you proved me wrong... Still a funny pic, nonetheless!

Well I think I rember reading that it wasnt a begginer driver Argh I forgot the magzine let me try and rember. :D

Even professionals make mistakes, the car just drifted too wide and dug into the sand.

How do you know it's drifting? All I see is that the car is sliding backwards with the wheels cut in. That could have happened by applying too much inward steering and the car understeering like a sack of potatos.

Unless you have a different source for that info.

Actually, he may or may not be 'drifting'. That question can only be answered by whether or not he intended to oversteer through the turn. In any even what did happen is that he went too fast through the turn or turned in too late, and the outside rear wheel dropped into the kitty litter because he was too wide. Unless he gets extremely lucky, that car is going to roll in about another 750 milliseconds.

For the record, most terminal spins wind up on the inside of the turn after the apex.

Correct. The spray of gravel from the sandtrap is showing that the left rear tire of the car is digging a high-speed trench.

Poor M5, First attempt I ever tried drifting at work was when I had an M3 Convertible, and I took off DSC and put that ***** in Sport Mode. I went around a corner, full opposite lock, traction finally kicked in when I was hitting 9000 RPM's and I spun out of control, and ended up backwards. I was scared ****less... If I knew how to get my Send Video feature to work on my cell phone I was share with you guys, so you can laugh along with me ;)

 holy crappy! if he was trying to drift, he went a little overboard, when I drive my dads M5 I try to keep DSC on, but sometimes I turn it off, and turn sport mode on, the back will start sliding pretty easy, but luckily I have never spun it out, just a little tire smoke, no harm done :D
