HE is toying with us people. How he could thought PSP way of cockpit view and answered that ....

He didn't, he gave us a choice; do we want no interior for the non premium cars (as it is at present) or do we want him to add plain black interiors for the non premium cars as is with the cockpit view in GTPSP (it wouldn't take much time). chepe and dzidza understood what he meant, why don't other people?

He didn't say the 800 wouldn't have cockpits, somebody asked a silly question about black frames because they assumed that standards had no cockpits.

He's not going to answer that it would be technically possible to have blackframes even though they already have a regular cockpit. Who would want a blackframe when you could have the real one?

about demage part you said... tell that to ferrari scuf and dents only,, doors flyin are big NO NO to them..

Oh I see what you mean, well in this case at least Forza has the same level of damage on all their cars including the Ferrari's and eventhough its limited (scufs and dents) its better than this guesswork as to what will have what in GT5. So far the damage has been totally unremarkable.

Robin.

Although Im not too worried about cockpit view I have always thought that a game having only certain features for certain cars and specific this and that as a cop out.

All cars should have the same level of interiors and all cars should have the same level of damage modelling. No other racing game out there has such silly issues.

Robin.
And all other games that have such issues get railed on about it on and on. But GT5 blinds everybody because KAZ IS A PERFECTIONIST LOL and its been in development for five years...

what i would like to know is why are the t10 staff are on a gt forum???:indiff:
on another note thanks KY for having a quick chat with your fans:)

Its Gran Turismo Planet......... What are these other games you speak of and exclude Forza1,2 and 3. By the way, its many of the Forza fans who complain about Forza....

What Kaz sais is,

What that sais to me is, would you like the PSP interior view as an EXTRA option, as well as the usual interior view?

To me it seems obvious that he asks "would you want a black frame?" and then says "if so that would be technically possible" referring to the cars for which there is no detail in the interior, and hence, currently don't have cockpit view. Seriously, I remained optimistic about this issue for the longest time, but now ALL signs are pointing towards 200 cars with interior view. The only way this can get more final is when the game ships.

There might be something from LMS or ALMS could be added. ^KY #Honda #E3

More LMPs, GT1 and 2s?

How can you say that when his answer was so vague?

Also, how can you say that when we still have Gamescom and TGS?

You guys need to calm down! Don't worry so much, it's not good for your health. :)

Personally I still believe all cars have interior. :)

Yeah, I agree, feels like they're screwing around with us :)
Well, my theory is, since the Premium cars will be capable of showing severe body damage, they all are meant to be racing cars such as GT500/NASCAR/WRC.
And in Prologue we didn't really have a lot of racing cars, but all of them, including the stock ones like Suzuki or Daihatsu, had their cockpit view.
Also, the Meristation interview says that Viper, Ford Mustang, Nissan GT-R are examples of standard cars.
The first (standard) will be over 800, many of whom appeared in previous installments of the game, as the Viper, Ford Mustang, the Nissan GTR and GT 500 -, while the Premium will be a group composed of 200 cars.
It means, Vipers and GT-Rs were created from the old assets, but already had a cockpit view in Prologue. And that means, Polyphony has some interior data even in assets from old games which can be used in standard cars.

Eric.
You guys are so blind. You're getting 800 half-finished cars and 150 finished cars. But oh-the-outrage when there's a polygon out of place on a Forza interior.

right on. too much effort to little crap and leave some major stuff away. big fail.

In case people want to know there are about 140 (+/- ~5) cars that we have the the interior of. That leave about 60 left.

Kinda know what you're getting at, but it's just the way these guys work. The interior view of the premium cars is ridiculously good and it was just impossible to do that for all 1000 cars in this time frame (yes it's years, but look at everything else - they haven't been twiddling their thumbs).

With DLC there for upgrades, IMO they have made the right decision: Set a very high standard and build a huge, solid foundation to which content can be added or upgraded.

edit: I also wanna add something re. foundations etc. at the risk of sounding fanboy:

PD take a lot of time to diligently do things RIGHT, and they think big and think about the future. This means that they are building framework that might not be visible to the undiscerning eye. They've been working on physics and modelling cars to a level that's beyond the ps3, and the benefit is a long term one. It means that they have those car models ready for future instalments so that when sony give PD a ps4 or a ps5, they can put 20 nascars on a track and smash them into thousands of component pieces.

Cockpits are hardly a major component to the game. If they said something like, 'Well, we modeled 1000 cars from scratch, but we've run out of time so here's only 20 events and no online' That's a big fail

at risk of sounding fanboy or something like that i have to say that this mayor discussion is being held over by superstition, its like science vs god stuff,so instead of being discussing about it just wait they will give us an answer.

although the only thing that could be non in car view is the black out dashboard i have to say that he is messing a bit with us about ,but sadly if I am wrong then we will have a lot of cars to see but very few cars to fell.

So the game's direct competitor isn't eligible for comparison?

I dunno, name me any relevant racing sims that are on console, because I don't know any others.

Edit: And everyone saying 200 cars with cockpit view, I thought the numbers were 950 total cars and 800 are "standard". Leaving 150 premium ones.

No, cockpit view is a huge part of the immersion. NFS Shift sort of sucks in my opinion from its bugs (haven't played after any updates, but I'm not arguing this point), but the interior view was downright awesome. I'm not sure if there are any of the major racing games out that lack a cockpit view. If they hadn't been so intent on making sure they modeled the exact number of threads in every stitch of the interior of those 150-200 cars you could have most of those cars fully modeled. Or even just having the amount of interior you see in Forza modeled (which is the view directly forward and something like 60 degrees to the left and right for turning your head).

While that's true, if PD didn't count every stitch, the cockpits could have ended up looking like FM3s, which I wouldn't honestly rather had NOTHING that those

You said "games"..... By the way I enjoy Shift more with a wheel than FM3 with a pad.

I stopped playing shift at the point that my 370Z started bouncing 5ft in the air and winding up off the track.

Anyway, Test Drive Unlimited has a bit over 100 fully modeled interiors (though I won't say they are top notch, I haven't played it in a long time now to remember).

I still don't know why its so hard to accept that this game will ship half-finished. Well over half the cars are simply the full quality models that they made for GT4 which were downgraded to fit within the performance of the PS2.

I was beginning to look forward to this finally coming out, us finding out some details for once...but to pay $60 or $100 for a game that they half-assed the cars? Nah.

Right now when I play Forza I'm either racing online (both for the fun in that and as a means to build up credits) or driving freely, either on the Nurb or somewhere else, doing burnouts and otherwise being a hooligan. Always in cockpit mode unless I want to look at the car for a second. If I had GT5, that means 800 cars are really of no interest to me, and 150-200 are. Its safe to assume pretty much every car that wasn't in GT4 will be premium, so anything past 2006 or whatever. A whole lot of great cars aren't going to be premium.

Anyone else find it odd that you can't flash a highbeam on standard cars? They could just use the same light data and make it brighter and higher, even if they can't spend the time to find out exactly how each high beam works on the standard ones...

I really hate to see what shortcuts they need to take for GT6, which would end up releasing in like 2017 if we're lucky.
