Talking to yourself during races

Usually quiet, but when I get smashed for the 3rd time in the same race I will yell "Are you 🤬 KIDDING me?!"

Edited.

Folks, there's an entire universe of difference between saying "I swear during races" and typing out exactly what expletives you say.

The next time I have to edit someone's post in here because they think putting in an asterisk here or there means they can tap out whatever expletive they want, I'll be passing out 10 pointers.

This is in the post right above yours. How could you miss this? :yuck:

*shrug*

It's not like I didn't give people enough chances and warnings.

Anyway, I've noticed I do talk to myself much more then I realised, often along the lines of just generally saying what I'm going to do. Very often I'm telling myself to 'stay calm' or 'don't throw it away now', I also have a bit of an attitude when I stick down a great overtake usually a 'top that move' type of comment as I became more and more of an overtaking entrepenuer (< spelling?). This happened when I started doing switchbacks in the esses to wrong foot other racers, or just general good moves during bends and braking as apposed to standard (boring in my opinion) overtaking on the straights.

I feel like I (or anyone else) who makes great overtakes rather then passing on the straight and keeps them clean deserves that, and will vocally approve of other clean moves made on me in such a manner be it a 'now can you handle the pressure?' or a straight 'nice move'.

I also talk alot, ALOT during drifting even running through my technique as I do it such as 'brake, feint, turn-in, pump it (as in throttle), countersteer, countersteer, countersteer' and so on with the rest of the run like 'change direction' or when twin drifting 'close up'.

Swearing just don´t cut it for me (far to common and not powerful enough:sly:), so I tend to make up different combinations of words, usually consisting of an animal and an unexpected bodypart, such as "monkeybellybutton", "chickentounge", "ratnails" or "cockroachgums".
A bit wierd maybe, but I find that the process of this is more soothing than just swearing, and makes me get back to concentration faster. Unless I accidentially stumbles on a combination that makes me laugh, that is...

Often it's "That Expletives removed by Moderator was phased out, who do i always get the fricken penalty"
And then it's "Oh Yeah Won that Corners Apex Ass"

I have Forza 2, and there's voice communication there, if someone knocks me off the track, I usually say something along the lines of "Monkey nuts!" I then proceed to fubar their car if they did it on purpose.

Yeah I scrolled my mouse before the page had loaded so it went straight to the bottom, sorry about that, i've learnt now so everyone can chillax

You should already know not to use bad language, as you agreed not to when you signed up to this site. You shouldn't need to see extra warnings to make you comply with rules you have already agreed to

Relax, take a deep breath....focus on the racing line....you will soon see him off track... (usually when annoyed by other drivers)

Hellooo.... (as I pass by a ) I actually sometimes wave good bye

Off the brakes..off the brakes...allow the car to turn...enough braking (it takes courage to get off the brakes when you feel you've overshot the turn)

Don't get too excited....you're going to pass... if you remain calm...(eminent pass)

Slow down to go faster.....

Look ahead....look ahead....focus on the apex...

Don't make mistakes....leave that to others to do....

The closer I am to winning.....play it safe... play it safe...don't push it... : )

No, I don't usually talk to myself. I might occasionally mutter an expletive, but mostly I just moan in one continuous GT-induced orgasm.

I'm usually quiet during races, and try more to think about what I'm doing rather than talk it out. However, I was talking to myself through the last few S class races, just telling myself to "take it easy, you'll do fine" and other things of that nature.

Now, I just curse at my stupid steering wheel, because I blame everything on it.

Oh, and today, I suddenly realized that when I race, if I fall behind, I yell until I make up lost time. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH HUUUUUU AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH" for up to 10 minutes.

Its when I fall behind that I go silent, and thats when I'm at my most fierce. If I'm talking/shouting I'm annoyed, if I'm dead silent then I'm going to give the guys in front of me the most pressure I can possibly put on them and take any tiny opportunity I'm left before they have time to react. I'm not neccessarily calm, I'm just in my own element, every truly serious race I usually end up silent if I'm chasing and just doing what I do best. If my assault on the lead is halted severly though, I do get impatient and make an opportunity out of nothing by simply being unpredictable without being outrageous, whilst often on the verge of screaming at the guy infront if they have no right to be there and are losing me time. The silence allows me to listen to the other guys revs, so I know what he's doing, if he'll be shifting soon, and allow me to predict as much as I possibly can about what they'll do next and how I can get past them.

Again its a trait I carry across to COD4, when I snipe (which I take just as serious if not more so then competitive GT5P), I fall silent once I get into it, listening for footsteps, gunfire, anything.

I mumble and grumble at myself at times for idiotic mistakes I make. Some of which are better left unsaid here in this forum. :banghead: @#$%^&* , he he he
