sounds great to me.

We will need all the help we can get if were gonna beat them.

We will, you first though, you're probably a better driver than me and in the better car.

you are driving the TT?

OK, well I havent started on week 2 yet, but I can share some tricks from week 1 if they will be useful.
I think the most critical corner @ tsukuba is the right hander (third real corner i think after the start/finish). I was able to set the gearing so I could use the rumble strip on the inside of the corner to get the car alittle sideways. Then i could nail the throttle and exit at between 85-95 mph, if i remember right, and depending on how well i hit it.
Im not sure how the TT handles, but the A4 is somewhat understeery, so whenever i could get down to 2nd gear, i would, so i could get the tail out slightly. I think between all the hairpins, thats worth almost a second a lap.
for the final corner b4 the finish, I was able to leave the car in 4th gear at 85-90mph until it took a good hold, then nail it and cross the finish at about 120mph.

I think in the 6 lap race,
T1s were usually mid 11 sec (from 11.487-11.617, not counting the first lap)
T2s were between 26.066 and 26.320.
Laps between 48.922 - 49.806 (big mess up in the 3rd gear right hander)

It would be better if i were to go watch my replay, since the laps were done last tuesday for the 6 lap, and thursday for the 18.. Ill let you know if there is anything really obvious.

Yes i am in the TT, it sounds like a geiger counter!!

My T-Times were about identical, but the car dosnt have the cornering like the A4 or any other car really, but i was happy to get a fastest lap of 48.751.

Yet the TT dosnt have great torque, in the test session at trial mountain i wasn't gaining speed on the uphill sections, but that won't be much of a problem at the high speed ring.

I'm yet to try the car there yet, but when i do i'll let you know how i got on 👍

If your t-times were identical, and your fastest lap was faster than mine, how did you lose 3 seconds overall to me?

My T-Times were on my fastest lap, but i was doing low 49's most of the time, my fastest lap was just a moment of brilliance.

Thanks for the congrats Bee.

I think it would be best in GT as well. But you cant be too choosy:D

Yes, in GT i would do better cause i can set up the car pretty well.

one question: is a 1'03.6xx around HSR on RSS in the A4 DTM fast? I've been hitting 1'03s in the sprint race for the DTM at HSR.

That's about as fast as ive done so far yes.

My best lap's a 1'03.5xx so far.

So what's the problem with the Audi's then? They seem to be off the pace...

I think I was off the pace because I was using the DFP. I'm so used to using the controller, I must have been cautious. But I seem to be getting faster with the controller. I was exiting the last corner in the HSR sprint race on RSS at nearly 130mph!

Ive tried speaking to appie about the Audis, they off when i did some DTM testing and they still seem off to me..

i have tried the the RSS race twice so far, the fastest ive gone was a 1'03.640, but i havent really changed anything or tried any drastic lines sofar, it might get faster, but not by much.

I've already spoken to him about power. He says he won't gives another 1% of power because if he does, the other teams will want more power as well. I have no problem with that. I suppose we'll just have to make the most of what we've got and keep trying! :)👍

My fastest lap time so far was only about 3 1/100ths of a second slower than that!

While I'm here, would any of you guys fancy joining the AE86 Tour of Asia? Take a look in the LRS forum to find out more...

I will consider the AE86 races, I like slower, stockish cars, but WRS and DTM will come first, so if I dont have time, i wont be able to.

Scratch the last post, gearing set to 310km/h, i got a 1'03.199 fastest. Cant run it consistently, but at least we know its there.

The 2nd 4th gear corner in the esses if really important, patience is huge there, cause if you understeer too much you lose about a half a second trying to get it back in. take the last corner b4 the finish at about 120mph in 5th.

just did another run..

1.1'10.759
2.1'02.949
3.1'02.977
4.1'02.918
5.1'03.070
6.1'03.089
total. 6'25.762

What are you doing to get so damn fast? Can you send me your replay, cause i need to see where i'm going wrong...

unfortunately, no, I dont have a max drive yet.

Im planning on ordering one soon, but im in between jobs right now, and money is *really* tight.

some pointers though:

in the first corner, where it is pretty open i go near the inside to keep the distance im travelling pretty short, then let the car move up the track in preparation for when it tighetens. If you hit it just right you should be exiting on to the second straight at about 175-176 mph.

the next corner, the left, is a tough one, im turning in and braking as light as possible to keep the car from understeering. slow down and apex between 122-126mph and if you hit it right you should hit the outside rumble strips at about 133mph.

for the esses, im turning in before braking so i can be on the brakes in a straight a line as possible, hold to the inside as much as you can at about 86-91mph, then turn in as late as you feel comfortable for the second curve, this one you should be able to be in the throttle before you hit the apex, if you get it right youre looking at about 111-114mph at exit.

the last corner is really important too, should still be in 5th gear as you enter, brake down to about 122mph, and most important of all MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT TURNING THE WHEEL TO FAR! if you do this the car will not be as capable of either gaining speed or turning. I usually turn too hard at the begnning of the corner, then let off till the wheels stop squealing, then you know you are getting maximum grip, exit speed here should be around 130mph.

Ill get you that replay as soon as i can get a max drive..

you ass!!! that's not fair!!! stop being so damn fast!!!

my best is only a 6'27.526, with a best lap of 1'02.888 on the last lap.

wow, a 1'02.8! ive never seen one that fast. are you in the TT or the A4?
gearing? tips?

I'm in the A4. I haven't really got any tips. Just drive the pants off of this thing! Mind you, I was using the controller, so...

Im doing rubbish, my best's a 6'30 something. I hate the high speed ring.
My best time's a 1'03.1 or something.

1'03.1 is pretty good though. just need to clean up lines alittle probably.

Anyway, sjaak has some times posted for the BMW, and based, on my splits anyway were ahead this week... as long as appie doesnt try to make me submit my replay..:scared:

My sprint replay has one tiny wall tap on the first lap on the last corner, but appie said he'll overlook that. Thanks, appie!

first run of the 15 lapper, promising. Im not gonna post it in case someone looks in this thread.. pm if you want it!

Time to get off the tall horse that is DTM and get back to getting my ass kicked by WRS guys. :dunce:
