More info will follow, we are now sure the battle will consist of three battles:

1. A Woodone Supra - Xanavi GT-R JGTC battle at Suzuka
2. ??? unclear, GT-ONE vs. R390GT1?
3. Supra - Skyline on the Nürburgring
 
If you don't mind me asking, could you take the Squadron's URL out of your post please, Pink? We don't like to publicise :)

So, you're planning on Round One to be the JGTC round? That's fine. I'll discuss the car we'd like to use with the team 👍

So? We are not a Nissan team, we are the Skyline Squadron. We drive Skylines, not just any Nissan.

Pink, we're still debating which JGTC car to use. It might not be the XANAVI car, so we'll let you know :)

About the GT-ONE vs. R390GT1 thing B-spec. yada yada


On Midfield with pace Bob ran:

GT-ONE: 1'07.451
R390GT1: 1'12.612


So this isn't quite the option we're looking for.
 
I thought that might happen, Pink - I was pretty sure a GT-One would outrun the R390. Looks like we need a different pair of high-level cars, then. Anyone got any suggestions?

i think that would be the same as the GT500-competition, only with less power...we need to find another supremum!

We can't use GT300 classes, because there are no JGTC300-class Skylines! We're too powerful for that :sly:

We could use old rallycars, but Nissan's never had a huge involvement in rallying and there are no Skylines made specifically for rallying. What about a tuner car, taken to the maximum spec?

I think that we shouldn't use the R34 but the R33 GT-R as it's made in the same years as the Supra...
 
After Easter's fine, it just gives us more practice and perfection time :)

We'll have to come up with a Round 3 idea closer to the time, nothing comes to mind yet.

We have decided to take the Nissan XANAVI NISMO GT-R (JGTC) 2003 as our car for this challenge. :)

wow wow wow..... bram what are you talking about, this battle is about toyota vs nissan. why are we trying to F with all the cars... if the GT-one is faster than the R390, hey! thats on nissan not us. and for one do you not know the full power of the JZA80? i'll go toe to toe with ANY skyline on any track with my full tune JZA. and yes the last round MUST be on the RING with full tune R34 vs full tune JZA80, if you guys dont think your supras can keep up, let me hendle round 3 on my own.

sorry if im out of line but this is the first im hearing of any race plans for this battle and im abit ticked that you dont think a JZA cant take on an R34 bram... and at that im allso ticked that wer going to mess with the cars for the battle, i cant stand it wen ppl want to mess with my car just cus it's faster... well i got news..... THATS WHY YOU TUNE!!!!!! look my point if we race supra vs skyline, we do it right. no detune, no adding weight becus the skyline is a tank. just flat out racing to see whats better, if i pull my woodone out it's at 975HP eazy as that. same for any of my cars...

sorry for the rant, but it seems like all ppl want to do any where i race is BS around with detuning and weighing down one car to help the other and put limits on this and that, and i've had about all i can take of it. i need a full on race.
 
Skyline is heavier, yes. But, thanks to AWD, it'll be better when exiting corners, since you can step on throttle sooner than on RWD layout.

If there would be a battle of full out tuned cars, in the terms of performance, R34 is better match to 4th gen Supra than R33, since R33 can not reach 900 bhp where as R34 Nür edition reaches 904-913, depending of turbocharger.. on the other hand, Supra is lighter.. and with 900 bhp it'll easily lose traction in corners and thus it's forte would be the straights.

No matter what point you look at it, I believe that GT-R's and Supras will be equal. Skylines would win on the twisties, whereas supras would be faster in the straight thanks to their better aerodynamics.

Thus, the chances are 50/50. both have potential to be the winner, but in the end, it's all about driver, not the car. Driver is the thing that makes the car fast. It's up to driver if his/her skills are good enough to utilize every good side of the particular car.

Thanks for listening my theoretical ranting this long.

and before anyone asks, I am member of Skyline Squadron. And no, I'm not participating this race, since I'm not one of the aces of our squadron. That honour belongs to those who are faster than me in my feeble 700bhp R32 GT-R.
 
errr Alex, the JZA80 engine is the 250 Hp Supra, the 330 Hp is the 2S-GTE Supra :D


Anyway, I still think R33 vs. Supra RZ is the most beautiful battle, they come from the same year and the R33 is the most beautiful Skyline IMO.



I admit that R34 is faster than the Supra, it's just newer...

umm i dont know about the skyline handling better, cus on Nur even in the slowest turns i never drop lower than 70MPH. and bram i know i wasnt talking about the motor lol and it's the 2JZ-GTE that your talking about :) and let me race an R34 on the RING for the last round not so much to race my car but just to show you that the R34 doesnt have any thing on the JZA80.
