Teen caught doing 142mph

I rode once with a friend who drove like that, also in an STi. That was the last time I rode with him :) He was in his early 20s, I think the only reason he still had a license was because the points on his license from the other states he had lived in hadn't caught up with him yet.
 
Yea, his story is sooooooo believable.

Anyone who's doing 140mph on the highway is not doing it to actually get anywhere.


But god damn, it worked.
 
It doesn't surprise me when I hear about a teen going that fast, I did it myself at that age. What surprises me is the fact that the police are that retarded and let him go with nothing more then a warning after a lame ass excuse like that. :odd:
 
This instance also reminds me of something that happened yesterday in Melbourne, where a 12yr old girl was caught doing 110mph?? in a 60 zone...

Though on this occasion, she was arrested.

According to a few people with wrx's a mildy modded one could easily do 140 depending on the year due to some years having different gearing.

anyone that young with an sti or even a wrx is just asking for trouble, trying to get home in time my ass. if i had a car like that at that age i would have done the same thing... why somone that age has a car like that ::shakes head:: when somone gets pulled over doing what might be the fastest recorded speed ever in that area they should be taken home in the back of a cruiser. get the damn kid a 2.5i or better yet, an old volvo 240 so when he wrecks going 90 (going down hill with a tail wind) he might have a chance of surviving (sorry for the anger but this is just ridiculous)

There are many kids at my school who have BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, you name it. Heck one kid has an M3 :dunce: Kids should not get high end sports cars for their first car.

First off, how did the cop even catch him? I would think that if the cop was stopped, he wouldnt have even tried to catch the kid. And another thing, I would hope a stock WRX could do over 140 because I know of several people that have topped out stock Preludes at over 140.
 
The cars you usually see going really fast are typically STis or M3s. The fastest drivers are us teens, 16 year-olds are probably the worst. Combine the two and why am I not suprised. We seriously need to consider an autobahn for the rural areas here in the US. After all, the German autobahn is typically safer than the average US hiway. Of course, this could be because of the drivers...

Um, there's actually quite a lot of cop cars that can go near 130Mph. This isn't a hard speed to reach anymore.
 
Maybe in your town. My towns were all Impalas and Crown Vickys with the occasional SUV and C5 Corvette (maybe 1 C5/950 cop cars?)
 
Not everyone runs from the police, he may have pulled over when he saw the flashing lights, even if they were already way behind him.

The thing is that in Germany they don't have 16 year old drivers and also they have a damn rigorous driving test. If you put autobahns in america, all the 16 year olds are just going to kill themselves even quicker.
