Has anyone ever entered any local Tekken tournaments? I thought about it when I was a hardcore Tekken Tag player, but never did. I think it would be interesting to see how you stack up against other players who also think they're the best.

Yea, those people are really hardcore! The top people's names aren't just mentioned there, they are even mentioned in nearly every fighting game forum boards. I think Justin Wong is possibly the most used name.

It is amazing too how some of them come from overseas just to participate in Evo2K. Actually, more like come in and whacking the players of US around.

I don't think you can unlock Jinpachi. There is nothing there at gamefaqs that talk about unlocking Jinpachi. I remember people talking about how unlocking Jinpachi is only a joke...so he can't be unlocked. I dont even have him on my character select screen.

Yeah, I wish he was unlockable. Although I'd rather have him in his human old man form, then in his "Purple-Pink Aura, Mouth-In-Chest" form.

yeah, jinpachi has this very unfair move where he counters u and u cant move for like 2 secs, that really pisses me off, especially in hard. me and my brother had a competition who can beat jinpachi in hard, so yeah, it took very long. i dont have the game know and i miss it so badly since i just rented it for 3 days, i even memorized all of devil jin's combos, and a bit of kazuya's and normal jin's. i wanna buy it!! -_-"

Jinpachi can sure get really annoying! I think he would be too strong if he is a playable character since you can always do that counter attack thing that makes you recover REALLY SLOW. I almost forgot to mention his giant fireball attack too.

Ohh, did that fireball attack ever make me mad sometimes. Although, if you lose to him enough times, it makes the one time you beat him all the better!

I thought Asuka was a pretty good addition. I mean they had to have someone to replace Jun. I always loved fighting with Jun, and Asuka is pretty similar, so I'm an Asuka fan.

Asuka is like a sister to me, except that she is a bunch of pixel. I am most comfortable with her because I feel closer to her since she is a girl like me! 👍 I don't button mash by the way, I actually input commands and lay the slaps all over the guys in the game.

JinPachi is a tru pain in the butt. Weirdly the only characters i beat him on me 1st go with, was Anna & Chrissie & i suck big time with them. Or at least i thought i did.

This might hav been answerd, but do u get anthing for completin the (terrible) xtra tekken game were u play as jin, i 4got the name.

Fav character Lee, his moves are so kool 👍

I never really bothered with Devil Within. Playing that game over and over for about 5 times made me give up entirely on that mini-game.

Jinpatchi is a b**** to beat.... no match for good ol' Kazua (or howeva you spell it) and then i get my ass handed to me on a plate trying to do it with Jin the very next day....

Its a good game, i just hate the mini game.

Tekken 4 was so bad imo. 👎 Since Tekken 5 came, I never ever thought about picking up Tekken 4 again and to compare it with T5! Tekken 5 completely made me forgot all about Tekken 4...until you now just mentioned it!

I got tekken 5 on Friday.
It wasnt as good as i thought it was going to be BUT i was expecting a lot from it. The opening cutscene was exellent!! but it wnt a bit downhill from there in terms of the story.
I was just wondering, in tekken 4 if you press 'select' during a fight you can see the moves as you use them. I tried on tekken 5 but nothing happened . Did they remove this feature or do you have to switch it on another way??
I really like the environament you fight in but i find the floor cracking REALLY annoing especially on the ice with those penguins.
I also dont like the music for ''devil within'' Is there a way to turn that rubbish off?? And i dont like the fighting stlye in it. In tekken 4 i used tekken force mode to train and practice with different players but now i cant do that
And finally, i find it quite fustrating when you want to move side to side you have to double tap the directional buttons. That was one of my main strategies in tekken 4 and they've ruined it! Ive also noticed blocking is a lot more harder now when your opponent is doing a combo.
I also feel they could have worked on the stories a bit more. I think their too shallow and are too short, apart from Kazuya's though. Thats my favorite . That said though i havent done too many yet, roughly 6.

Apart from that lot, im happy with the game. I think Raven is an excellent addition, i really like his fighting style. And i really like that 'arcade history' feature they put in. That was a big suprise. Tekken 3 is my favorite of the whole series. And that feature also bought back some memories because i havent played any of those games in ages!!

BTW i got a PERFECT on Jinpachi on medium setting with Raven and with NO button bashing seriously, pure skill!! Im very proud of that

Like every fighting fan uses those letters and numbers to represent button commands. From what I learn you mean like this:

FU+4= Forward, Up + Circle
DF1+3 = Down, Forward + Square and X

Is that right?

People in tekken use the 1, 2, 3, 4 numbers to represent the corresponding attack buttons on a pad or controller and those F, B, U, D and other combination to indicate certain movements of the stick or pad.

Soul Calibur is different since people use the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 to indicate pad or stick movement and uses the A, B, K, and G to indicate the button for attack and gaurd.
