If it is the problem or even the part of the problem Jordan, I think you should close the GT4 forum for maybe a few hours. I'm getting annoyed by these overloads.:grumpy:

Well for the server's sake can't you wait a few hours? Remember it's not like they are going to leave GTP tomorrow or in a few hours. The servers need to get some relief from the loads.

It would be good if there weren't this many people on the forums but there are ALOT more people who want to see all the GT4 news etc. that people who just want to look at other stuff. Think about the entire community.

If the forum was closed we'd have all the members from that forum making thread after thread after thread in the Rumble Strip or somewhere whinging about how the forum is closed. It's loss/loss either way, mate. :(

Those people are overloading GTP's servers making us suffer not trying to look at GT4 news and screens.:grumpy: Anywho I hope it gets better because i'm hitting the sack.

Like I said, if we closed the GT4 forum those same people would still overload the forums by making inane thread after inane thread in teh Strip or somewhere complaining. ;)

'Night.

I would like to remind you guys that GTPlanet.net is the web's greatest gran turismo source, and closing down the GT4 forum at the release of the Japanese version of the game would be insane.

I agree with you there, it'd be totally mad. Something has to be done about this though - it's getting beyond a joke.

Coming here and posting a thread that will gain outrageous amounts of feedback and opposition is just as counter-productive, you know.

Just thought I'd point that out. 👍

Yes, I knew that.

Actually, I believe the source of these problems was the swap of our hard drives last night to a new server, not the rush of traffic. Reducing the load on the server would do absolutely nothing to help fix the User CP error.

Hate to see what their Email boxes look like right now because I keep hitting the user control panel button. :D

Why are you doing that? You're only wasting the server's resources and bandwidth because of all the emails it must send out, just to be sent to me which I'm just going to delete anyway. Thanks alot.

Sorry... I didn't know it at first but sometimes it's more of a subconscious thing... you'd think it wouldn't be after being away from GTP for awhile...

OK since you already explained that closing it wouldn't do anything to help, even though I think if you closed it you would not tell the exact amount of time just say temporarily and they would leave because they would eventually get bored. If mass amounts of posts don't overload the server, why was HMRCWG closed?

What kind of webmaster wants to bore people away from his site?

HMRCWG was at the time closed because it had put a fair amount of negative strain on the community for several reasons.

What you're asking here (closing the GT4 forum) makes so little sense it's almost funny.

Well i'm thinking of the principle of it being closed for awhile they not slouching around but get bored and leave for awhile and come back later but I just thought of them never coming back so nevermind. That's why I'm not a webmaster but since he already confirmed that the GT4 Forum has nothing to do with GTP acting up I don't care anymore.

Well you could password the GT4 forum, and make a script that PM's anyone that gets 100 posts with the password, it would piss some peopel off, but at least this site wouldnt just be used for GT4 iinformation...

It's NOT getting closed. The mod staff are trying to keep it organized and to keep control of the over-excited fanboys. We're getting there, even if it means a few slappings now and again.

It´s doing fine, no reason to close it. Keep up the good work guys. 👍

NOt long ago I was thinking that if people downloading the GT4 videos was appart of GTP being slow, maybe you could make a sepperate internet site just for the GT4 videos or something. Or for all the videos.(GT4, GT3, GT2, GT1, GTC)

I can't believe people are agreeing that they should disable the GT4 Forum, on the Japanese release date, from the biggest Gran Turismo resource on the internet, and then suggesting that the site shouldn't be just about Gran Turismo. Sorry Blackbird, don't take this the wrong way, but it's the worst idea I've come across in a long time.

I know a fair amount of people here aren't interested in Gran Turismo. That's fine. But this website's main priority is Gran Turismo, whether you like it or not.

Although, I like the separate GT videos site (seeing that I suggested it to you, Jack :p). But that's if Jordan can afford to purchase another site. Maybe someone else could if they feel generous? Just a thought.

I don't think that will be necessary. GTP is blazing fast right now!
