Fact is you can pretty much see or get close to your top speed at indy in almost any car, and easily max out your revs on the straight in a slipstream.
I do think the Test Course should of stayed though.
They should bring it back, it was well cool for checking out how fast your car would actually go. I think the closest I have found is Circuit de la Sarthe 'no chicanes' but my X1 still has a bit more to give at the end of that straight - would love to hit the limiter!
I enjoyed the heck out of it with my friends who werent as into the whole driving simulation thing but enjoyed going super fast without the overly technical aspect of decreasing radius turns, off camber hijinks etc that a lot of us find major fun to master. This is of course "MHO" as well
I also set my cars up gearing wise on the Test Course. Really no reason for taking it out of the game. I stopped trying to figure PD out. I think Kaz has lost his vision with this latest iteration of the GT series.

I think there leaves alot left to be desired as far as reaching top speed potential/rev limiters even on the fastest tracks in the game right now (Indy, Circe de Sarthe) etc.
With a good draft on Indy I've hit 305+ mph in the X2010, but still feel theres a ton left to be desired...
