That bug where you run the race alone...

I have never personally seen or experienced this in a sport mode daily race. What do you mean "fall off the track"?

Hmm, sounds fun. lol

And you win the race getting at the first place? NOT BAD! :-P

Never happen to me though. :D

Actually no, you just lose sync. You may have a clear track and therefore gain an advantage by finishing faster than the others. When the race is over, you regain sync with the server and you are ranked by your total time.

I had it happen right at the start of a Lago Maggiore race once, and I had to dodge the entire field that was parked on the hill leading down to the start line.

I have had this bug at least a half dozen times.

Sounds like a connection issue.. I've had a slightly similar thing happen to me except where I'm not in sync with the other drivers and my car is either stuck in auto drive or it doesn't respond to any steering or throttle inputs.

I used to see this in GT6 occasionally but I haven't in GTS so far.
You see them all parked but how do they see you? To them you might be invisible or parked on the grid or you might be teleporting all over the track causing chaos. When it happened in GT6 I always parked up out of the way and quit the race as soon as I could because I was worried I might be causing mayhem. You might not want to do this in a Sport race of course because you'll lose rating for quitting.

I have never seen another driver do this in my own race, which leads me to believe that the person suffering this bug is completely removed from the race in everyone else's view.

Funny, I never saw it in GT6.

Maybe we can coin a name for it. Maybe "the lonely race" bug...I dunno, nothing good comes to mind at the moment.

Hmm, should be a connection thing or similar. ;)

I had something similar happen to me last night. At the start of the race the entire field slammed into the outer wall at the same time. Some cars were still in the 1st turn, and some were already on the straight away. What was wierd was the fact that they all moved together in a synchronized manner like a giant invisible force swept them all at the same time.

Is this what you guys are seeing?

Since I couldn't explain what happened, I just decided to keep it moving and drive my own race since it didn't affect my car. Still didn't win though lol.

That's it!!

Yes, you have to take the opportunity to run the fastest laps you can to score a win.

And that's exactly what I tried to do too, only to have someone tap my left bumper and spin me out :banghead:

Is there a name for this bug.

I am sure that I am not alone in getting into a daily race and then having all the other cars fall off thw track.
Could you maybe post a video link to help us develop a further understanding of the incident? Has it happened more than once?

It's happened about a half dozen times. I will post a video the next time it happens.

I wonder is this is what everyone else sees when that happens.

Not distracting at all! Why does the game not ghost extremely laggy cars.

Sven, that's close to what I'veseen. Imagine of ALL the cars were moving irratic at the same time, and together like this.

I had similar issue, except other drivers were stuck on the starting grid. Nobody moves, only me. And that's what I see on my screen...But... Few people complaining that I'm dirty driver, that I was pushing, ramming people of the track and I wasn't aware of that! So everytime that happened I was quiting the race, didn't want to ruin other people races. Just to know.

That's lag on your end. Sometimes my isp sputters and the whole field suddenly shifts. Luckily it's very rare (few times in 500+ races) and it hasn't caused any incidents yet. My isp is generally good at 4 or 5 bars, but can drop to 3 during prime time. When my connection is yellow I try to leave a bit more distance, same when behind another car with a yellow connection. Luckily I've never been down to 2 or 1 bar yet I don't think it would be responsible to keep going with that kind of lag. When I'm behind a car with 1 bar connection the only way to pass is wait until they go off track. Basically the higher your lag the bigger your hit box gets with all the erratic sideways movement.

I'll keep this in mind before my next race. I didn't have any issues with the race on my end though. I just chocked it up to being something that's out of my control.

I have had this exact same issue since the game release. It only affects Sport events, open lobbies are working fine without issues. Its weird as i had no issues with the Beta prior to the full release and nothing has changed with my connection since or in between.

I have tried everything from deleting saves and re-installing the game, to having port forwarding enabled on router for PS4's static ip address to the specific ports, as well as assigned the PS4 static ip address to the DMZ. Changed routers etc...Nat type is set to 2 and i have no issues with any other online games on ps4 or pc, so i think this issue is isolated to GT Sport and Sports mode specifically.

I'm not willing to change ISP's just for one game mode, in the mean time I'm hot spotting off my mobiles data connection for daily sports events.

I inadvertently reproduced the problem today. I was in a race when my wife turned on the microwave and the whole race started going haywire. My connection dropped to red 1 bar. I was about to pull over and end my race, yet as soon as the microwave stopped everything went back to normal. I guess it makes sense, microwaves also operate at 2.4ghz, blasting the air with white noise.

I'm afraid to think of what I looked like to the rest of the pack. I still got the clean race bonus at the end, so I guess I didn't hurt anyone :/ No microwave during races!

Microwave ovens pump out about 1,000 watts. That's about 10,000 times more than a WiFi access point. Most of this power is safely contained within the microwave oven.

But you need only the tiniest amount of leakage to cause interference. This microscope leakage is not dangerous to humans, but can really muck up your web access. What you see is that webpages either load very slowly, or totally freeze.

I have, he's normally a clean driver but in this one race he got a jump start and then bumped into a number of cars, including mine on more than one occasion causing all sorts of accidents. After the race he says all the cars were stopped and not moving on his screen and he thought he was racing alone.

@ItzLewis Here is a video of the bug in action from last night. I tried to share the video in game so people can download and step through each car, but it won't upload for some reason. I will keep it and try again some other time. Maybe it's too big?

Either way, here it is...Lonely Race Bug! After all the grip stuff, I was so down that I didn't care at all. I shouldn't even have entered the race.

Interesting side note, in my garage, it took a while for all the car images to load prior to this race. This may or may not be related. Maybe something happened on the server end?
