How is it possible for the most retarted person ever to be smarter than someone?:odd:

Anyhoo... I don't even know what the hell a 'tog' is, but I'd call them togs before I'd call them swimming trunks.:p

Hmmm, thats a good point. What does tog mean? Anyway, Swimming Togs = Swimming Trunks.

Bleh! Trunks, togs, who cares?! I know what I have.

Well I'm heading off to bed for the last time before the trip. I can possibly get on here tomarrow morning before we leave, I hope. If not expect to hear from me either tomarrow night or monday night.

My dad decided to give me his 787B scale model he got from the 2002 MazdaSpeed Street Heat event. It's this IXOModel and it's cool but he never puts his cool stuff on display so he gave it to me and it's on display in my room now.

Yeah, you've got a swimming suit.

Trunks? Get real; people who drive Oldsmobile Delta 88's call them that.
Tog? At the risk of a tongue-lashing by vat_man, tog is stupid.

Naa, people who first bought Delta 88s called them trunks, I believe that the current 88 drivers call them "Swimmizle trunkizles". ;)

There was only one, and it existed in the late '80's.

Weirdo.

First as in first owners. Most of them now are shizzled...

Anyhoo, as you can see I'm here...I convinced my dad to set up the laptop and I'm on now. We left my house at about 10:15AM, and got to Baton Rouge at 9:15 or so.

Several wierd things on the way down:
Apparently Arkansas has a "saloon" and thier slogan is, get this, "It Just Feels Right". No joke. I heard it on the radio. I was like "hmm I wonder where they got that from...".
Louisianna welcome signs say "welcome to Louisianna in French...as if groups of people drive down in Renalts and Peugots in the US.
People in parts of mississippi drive the crappiest cars. I saw just about everything with those wheels that spin when you stop and crap like that.
Ohh, and as we were entering Mississippi, we got passed by 2 cars from STL.

I drove for about 75 miles in the MPV with the cruise set to 85mph. As for speed records, our top speed was a smudge above 90mph, but we were avaraging 82-87mph most of the way down.

We are spending the night here, then driving the 350 miles or so down to Galveston Texas tomarrow.

cool. if you were going 85-90 how fast were they going :odd:

Alright, made it to Galveston Texas today. Hurricane Claudette is coming!! Whoo hoo!

On the way down here, right before we crossed the 20 something mile long bridge in Louisianna off of I-10, this Bonneville cut my dad off...we raced the guy and did about 110mph with ease. Coulda gone faster but I guess my dad didn't feel like it. Everyone in Louisianna and Texas speeds...we were cruising at 85 and getting passed every so often. It's a great thing because there's not a whole lot to slow down for on the way here.

We are staying at the Venician on Galveston Island...the place from the outside and in the hallways(which are open hallways) looks like a prison...it's an ok place though...
First off, there's extreme wind noise, a wistling noise, and breezes going under the balcony doors...And the windows are bowing inward, yes glass windows...kinda creepy...
Then there's the TV...ugh! First off, they have this god damn LodgeNet garbage...and they have games that you can order through it...you actually have to pay to play SuperNintendo. It's sad. So as usual I'm ready to break off the stopper things they put on the connection to the back to the TV...but it didn't have them. It's a friggen coaxial crapper. So I hook up the PS2 and take a shot at GT3(BTW, Nick, it's perfectly fine!!!), and the TV is unplayably dark and the sound is all bussy cause the mono speaker...So much for that.

Anyhoo, that's about it for today...hopefully we will do cool stuff tomarrow...

That's what I tell the cops.

"If everyone jumped off a bridge, would you follow?"

Bastard logic.

the 20 something mile long bridge in Louisianna off of I-10,

Pontchartrain Lake Bridge, probably. It hits I-10 in Metarie.

Well we made it through Claudette last night and today. It was pretty wierd for a while. We lost power and the phone at our disappointment hotel/condo(looked real nice on the net...in real life it's far from good. But it's ok...

Doug...you don't know highway edicate. If you do the speed limit, you piss people off. You slow them down. So what not better to do than go fast, make good road time, and have a little more fun than the boring speed limit. I'm sorry, but on some of these long streaches of highway, I don't see why you should be limited to 70mph...just to be safe because driving in a straight line is so damn hard...I want a US autobahn of sorts...just have it on the straights. For curvey areas limit it to 70 or whatnot.

ohh well...

Well guys, I'm home in STL now. It was a nice vacation but I'm glad to be home.

Here's 4 pics from the way home. I don't have the time or connection to upload all 145 pics. I should in the future though.

First one. My fave pic from the trip.

A picture is worth 100mph. Taken in our MPV as we were being tailed on I-10 in Louisianna. We went about 105 that time but I couldn't take another pic fast enough. The top speed for the trip was a blazing 112 or so MPH because this nut in a Gran Prix cut us off. Also we did about 108 when this old bat in a Town and Country tailgated my dad as we were doing about 90mph. So my dad floored it for a bit but there was traffic.

BTW, 85mph=3,000RPM in 4th(it's a 4 speed auto ofcourse...5 speed V6s were only in Canada). about 100mph is 4K RPM. By theory it should be able to do about 125mph. We've gone 120 in it before.

The pic:

Then here are 3 pics of some fellow Mazda owners. It's a early '90s Miata 1.6L, painted to look like Jeff Gordon's Dupont NASCAR stuff. I'm a fan of hating NASCAR, but these people were cool.

We were on I-55 north through Mississippi and they came flying up next to us. My dad floored it and we caught up with them(we went about 102 to do so, they were going pretty fast). We passed them on the left, then got infront of them. They passed us on the left and we both did about 95MPH for about a mile before she waved and smiled at us then sped off. It was great.

That's all for now. There will be more later.

Fixded. Sorry about how big they are. I'm to tired to edit them down.

Tired bastard!

Love the plates on that Miata! Josh is going to come in here and say the girl's cute, though.

I have no clue what she looks like. I might, though, if I had 6 weeks for those freakishly huge pictures to finish loading.

Seriously, those are the biggest god damn pictures I've ever seen in my life. I own posters smaller than that.

Totally classic Josh.

The girl looks like the older sister on 7th Heaven.

Jessica Biel?! If so, yes, she's probably cute.

Yeah, her. Too bad she plays such a whiny prick on the show.

Yeah. And too bad I just waited 40 minutes for those pictures to download only to be shown a picture with half a face!:irked:

But you're in agreement about the resemblance, right?

I'm on 28K Josh, shut the hell up, you aren't suffering!

Bleh. And it's hard to take pics while going fast on a bumpy highway.

I connect at 31.2Kbps. My highest download speeds are in the high 3kb/sec range. I am suffering, especially when you post billboard sized pictures.:irked:

Yes.

Yeah, she is cute, but what is she doing with that mutt in her car?

I'll never understand.

I got you beat, I connect at 7616Kbps.

Wait until August 14th, and we can have a little speed competition.;)

I connect at 7616, but it's limited to 128k. :grumpy:

When it was downloading at 7616 speed, we had $300+ phone bills.

$300 is a tad high.:p I had a $186 cell phone bill last month.:scared: I got $60 of it knocked off due to some bull**** roaming charges I never agreed to on my plan. How relevant, I know.

Anyways, we can still have a competition.:D Hopefully Comcast cable will pwn j00, or something.
