I know what you mean IDAFC about this track, and it's far more fun the other way round :D

I never seem to do very well at smokey M :(

29.252 / 43.891 / 1.05.925

shame my lap 2 is .5 slower compared to my best fast lap :irked:

I'll keep at it but my lap 1 is really hard to beat !

i'm obsessive compulsive. just before i quit i was close to hysterical laughter.
 
I had a slow first lap: 29.332 44.105 1'06.445 but I am happy with the second lap.
I see from Mr P's third split time I need some work here on the part between sector 2 and 3.
The track looks so easy, but in fact it's pretty hard! :mad:
 
I tried for a few hours and couldn't even take a TENTH off my total. I think I'm taking the first and last turns wrong also. I can't find ANY time to make up in between the two. Any NTSC'ers want to send me a pacer lap from free run?;) I'm gonna give it ONE MORE session before I send in my time just to make sure.:trouble:
 
This race is all about maintaining speed, which means being really, really smooth and minimizing drift, IMO. Minimize your steering inputs, avoid drifts where you can, and let the car run. Don't forget getting a good launch!

I'm about .5 sec. off Mr. p's lap 1 T3, but only .1xx off my personal best on lap 2, so I don't think there's much left for me to gain unless I get really lucky. I've cut almost 2 seconds off my first clean attempt at the race.

(Can't figure out the "Launch" / no doubt which "Ride" I'm using eh?)

(Fairly quick once she gets goin'!)...UB57

New "Slower Ride" that "Launches" better:

29.805, 44.878, 1'08.124

Lap 2
23.422, 38.583, 1'01.398 / but 2.5 seconds quicker @ the finish line.

I've only tried one car so far -- the one I think I will use here.

T2, 1st lap: 44.496
T2, 2nd lap: 37.974

Seeing Mr P's times, I know I won't win in this car, but I'm thinking big picture here. ;)

Now I'll try some other cars, but even if they're faster, I might save them for a future race -- even for Smokey Mountain Reverse.

ehhhh, looks like i need to change cars. tried an actual race last night and lap one had 47.6, lap 2 was 38.4. its definently the same car that UB was first usin ;) that launch is a killer. looks like i might have to save this car for a race that i can do a flying lap (hopefully)

👍 I Agree !!! Just hope we don't "Over Stratigize" ourselves eh??? BTW: If you EVER figure out how to launch that thing, PLEASE let me know!!! It's a real sweetheart once you get past that first 200 meters or so...UB57

I finally get my best T3 down to 1'01 and Mr P turns a 59.
Sheesh, what's a guy to do?

At this point I have three contenders. I've made "three" initial runs with each car. (Started over if I didn't like the shape the car was in by T2.)
I have to run one more "set of three" Friday Morning, but I think I already know which car I'm gonna use.

Haven't had any runs at this since last friday ron, ill gonna give it ago tonight or tommorow arvo, im getting a wheel hopefully today or tommorow, same one as wez.

same one as i suggested you to get wez :) logitech formula force gp :) ive been running some laps of tt8 :) i can see me getting a 1'20.5 soon :)
