Ok, here's my new idea. I'm really confident that this will work, and I will make sure this series sees its end, no matter what.

The AE86 Tour of Asia
​
Basically, it's a race series for the Toyota AE86 models, the Sprinter Trueno and the Corolla Levin. Each week, the tour will visit a different part of Asia, and experience a variety of circuit types.

Courses

Tsukuba
Fuji Speedway 90's
Motegi Road Course
Suzuka Circuit
Fuji 2005 F1
Seoul Central
Tokyo R246
Hong Kong

Cars

Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex (AE86)
Toyota Corolla Levin GT-Apex (AE86)
NEW! Toyota Sprinter Trueno S.S Version in Unlimited Class

Race Format​
  • Hotlap: Be the fastest over one lap of the circuit. Fastest time wins.​
  • 2 races: Two races of the same length to test your ability against the AI (Note: For street circuits, one race will be run in the normal direction and the other in reverse)​
  • Races will be done in Arcade Mode/Single Race/hoose course/choose car​
  • Hotlaps will be done in Arcade Mode/Time Trial/choose course/choose car​
Rules​
  • All cars must run with +20% Power and -10% Weight.
  • Tyres must be either N1, N2 or N3 compound.
  • Both races and hotlaps must run with NO AIDS! (to make it more...interesting).
Points

1st: 10pts
2nd: 9pts
3rd: 8pts
4th: 7pts
5th: 6pts
6th: 5pts
7th: 4pts
8th: 3pts
9th: 2pts
10th: 1pt

Race events will be run over one week. Results will be put up on Monday afternoon, as will the next event thread.

It seems like an alright idea, but I don't think I'd be too interested in the cars that are listed up.

Sorry but thats just personal opinion mate. 👍

So sign me up for it :dopey: Maybe that would suit me better since there wouldn't be major differences in cars.

By the way, I had a look at the Car Reference guide here at GTPlanet, and I found the following:

Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex: Power - 126hp PTWR - 7.48
Corolla Levin GT-Apex: Power - 125hp PTWR - 7.49

EDIT: PTWRs were wrong. Have changed them now and I can confirm these figures are correct. I'm sure there won't be a real difference, will there?
 
Well, it should be a nice change from all these fast-paced championships! Not that the DTM series is a bad one.

Oh and while we're on the subject, I've decided to race after all this week. I'm finding driving with the controller easier than the DFP.
