I have always thought it was dumb that we as the player have access to all these extra parts where the AI all drive stock cars. The AI should have their cars randomly modified with performance parts, aero, paint, ect. it would make the game feel more alive and dynamic.

Anyone agree?

I kinda like racing against stock opponents, it let's me keep my car as stock as possible. I really hate upgrades on my car, unless it's something small like exhaust or something. The cars feel and sound like crap when you fully upgrade them.

I'm not sure if it's still the case but lots of the AI cars in GT5 were heavily upgraded and had aftermarket exhausts. It's probably the same in GT6.

I agree, as I feel that I am fully modded yet the AI loos stock! lol

How would PD do this though? I think it to much work. Some vehicles sounds aren't even accurate. They may accidentally put a STI version wing on a civic lol.

I can imagine this now: I'm in a race, fighting from 12th place down, heading for 2nd now, on my third lap on Mt. Panorama, extremely tense course, tight corners and hairpins, a single mistake could lose you up to 6 places, I'm approaching a blind corner, I turn in, blast the throttle and crash. Why? A Pink McLaren F1 completely distracted me with is poshness, I'm laughing, and I'm in 12th place.

The funny thing is there are some races in GT6 telling you you'll be going up against tuned cars and modded out performance machines, but when you actually race it, its just premodified cars like Amuse and Nismo and Mugen etc.

In response, PD could easily place an algorithm putting on a random assortment of parts on the car, as long as there is a failsafe so they don't go over the PP of the race restriction (550 pp or such). That would make the race a lot more interesting, but it would probably sound horrible, "The Dyson has overtaken the Dirt Devil, and is now approaching the Hoover!"

I'd personally rather have an AI that doesn't suddenly give up when I enter 1st, post 1.02 they are more aggressive when you are near them, but once you enter 1st, even if your only ahead by 1 ft, the AI suddenly assumes that all is lost and victory is impossible, and they slow down.

Oh, they DO mod their cars. How else can you explain the ridiculously swift "414bhp" Calibra touring car that accelerates at same pace with 600bhp+ R32/R34 GT-R's?

Hear, hear :) 👍

agreed. We need progressive AI which have a evolving strategy to win.

Right now, they are just obstacles one needs to pass. Ive had a good races with AI.... when i have an underpowered car, leading the race, and the number 2 car is breathing down my neck. Best moment in GT AI racing.
Other then that, they are useless boulder balls rolling around the track.

All cars should have been tuned up or down in order to have the same PP.

There are lots of ways to use 600 PP and deciding how to use them and on which car would be part of the fun.
