Something got my attention regarding the comments about the next carpack... the Beetle get the same loving as the Aventador. Surprising eh? Nope, it isn't. The VW Bettle is a legendary car and deserve all the love, a lot more than the big mad Lambo, if you compare their history. (Of course, the Lambo Aventador is an awesome supercar, it'll receive my love... just... later! lol)

And, being one of those Beetle nuts/lover, It'll be the first car from the pack that I'll spend some time with. Probably I'll do 2 laps on the Nordschleife with time change :) Like I usually do in one of my 8 standard Beetles.

So, Beetlenuts, what are you going to do first, with your Beetles? :dopey:

Drive it!! and Buy a second one tune its nuts off paint it in a bright colour and go trolling Aventadors online!!! :dopey:

Try to make it as fast as possible and do a lot of laps with it around the 'ring. :) I think this is the best car in the pack by far.

a nice holliday trip from Germany (Nürburg-Ring) through the Swiss Mountains (Eiger K) heading towards bella italia (Toscana, Rome) to watch a marvellous red sunset at the island Capri ... :sly:

I would perform full weight reduction, race hard tires, and full race suspension. Tune it to my preferred settings, and have fun. Enkei RPF1 on beetle please

I definitely will want to see pictures of this when you do it. The Beetle euro-tour :)

I'll probably paint mine with one of the awesome paints I got in the first DLC. :D

I'll probably drive it around Eiger first. :)

1st thing: crash it!
2nd thing: drive with it endlessly on the Top gear Test Track (say what you want, but i fell in love with that track!)

The inclusion of the 1966 VW Bug is by far the best thing I have seen in GT5.

From 1989-1996, my Blue 66 Bug was my vehicle of choice. It was given to me by my Grandmother when I turned 16. That car symbolizes not only my High School life, it was also the car I used when I was dating my soon to be wife.

So many great memories are involved with that car, when I saw it last night I got goosebumps, and called my wife out to me so she could see what I was looking at.

So, with that in mind...

The first thing I am going to do when I have the '66 Bug in GT5 is head to GT Auto. I will then find a blue that comes close to what my real car had, and then locate the closest match to wheels that were on my car. I am hopeful that the bumpers can be removed from my car being how that was the first thing I did when I got mine. If it's not, I can live with it, but it would be perfect if I could!

After that, I will head to the purchase parts in the tuning section and find an exhaust that matched mine. Once i have selected the right sounding exhaust, I will purchase the customizable suspension kit, and lower it to match my car.

Once all that is done, it's off to Photo Travel.

A BIG thank you PDI for including such a memorable vehicle.

This Beetle needs rails and suitcase on its roof. Even better a crate with a collection of some vintage wine.

or a surfboard, you see the list can go on

boshuter
That has to be the saddest thing I've read today. :(

My thoughts exactly, the love for such a hideous, under performing junk of a car is mind boggling to me. To each their own i suppose. I know in the states this car symbolizes smelly hippies and a chick car. Maybe its different elsewhere?

Should get a bit more power out of this than the '49 model, although that's still a lot of fun tuned. To all the haters, it's an iconic car, GT5 is all about driving cars and to some extent automotive history. But hey different strokes for different folks, there are probably cars in the game that you like and I don't, plenty to go around :)

What you said is the saddest thing I've read this week. Didn't you read the great story maxpontiac told us?

Respect the car and people stories with it. All of you that only likes overpowered, supersport machines should be playing something else, as Gran Turismo since day 1, is about ALL kinds of cars. New and old, powerful or everyday.

If you don't have nothing good to add on the thread, please, stay away.

Same for you, get lost.

I'm painting mine gold like my dad's '66 Beetle, hopefully slapping big dual exhaust on it, and going crazy online :D. Can't wait.

I respect folks connections with it 100% no doubt, but the car itself...nay no love for the "peoples car". I dont like what it stood for.
