no, you misread. what i meant was, in the real v8 supercars, they have a race a shanghai. since there is no shanghai circuit in gt4, i decided to use suzuka instead to represent the shanghai race. got it? ;)

Mafia_boy: i will not be changing the venue of the Bathurst 1000. if you don't like it, tough. and why did you suggest the suzuka 1000km when i'm already using suzuka in place of shanghai.

Whoa whoa, settle. :) It was a suggestion based on ejr_1's reply, I was playing with the Commodore on those tracks (Le Sarthe, Suzuka and Tokyo) and just proposed it. No demands or anything. :) All it means it a lot of slipping and sliding that race for me....I'll become the drift king of El Capitan by the end of the 1000kms. :nervous::lol: No need to bite my head off about it. ;)

Mafs!!

I was testing tire setups, and I see a problem with racing the GT World Championship, as the cars are extremely powerful GT cars, they got a lap on me, which means I only finished 17 of the 18 laps before the race ended.

You've given us all the best parts but you left the custom LSD (or an LSD upgrade of any kind for that matter) and carbon driveshaft off the list. Just out of curiosity, why? IMO, given that you're encouraging tuning, the custom LSD should be part of the parts package.

hmm, that is a problem. hang on, let me go and find some different races for us. i'll post them us as soon as i can.

oh, thanks for pointing that out. i'll pop those onto the upgrade list now!!!

I think that the LSD should be the 2 way, not full custom, to make the tuning more fair across the board.

I'll also be testing the other tracks to make sure that they're not going to be like Opera Paris II for you. Hong Kong is a good substitute for the first race 👍

Ok, I have a problem with all these Polyphony Digital Cup races. They have to be run on Sport tires. I'd suggest you do some races at the dream car championship and the JGTC, but I don't know how long you want these events to be.

I don't see where sports tires are so bad. They add an element of strategy to the tuning of the car for each track, but I personally don't mind either way.

So what kind of race times are you guys running at Hong Kong? :sly:

Don't know about Hong Kong yet but I've done the following practicing with Family Cup on the settings and got the lap times as:

Opera Paris II - 1:29's
Le Sarthe II - 3.28's

I'm in the middle of the 4hr roadster enduro so I can't test more yet.

Mafs!!

i left pukekohe out because u could not find a track that resembled it in gt4. and ididn't want to use a smaller version of a track which we would already be using. but for next season, since bahrain will be on the calender, we will be racing at grand valley speedway to repesrent bahrain in season 2.

I've managed a few 1'25.xxx laps at Hong Kong, but I can't seem to get a race time below 10'10.xxx for the actual race...

I was just wondering what tyres were you guys using on the lap times you posted?

My times were done on R3's allround as per the rules. I'm testing it with the 42kg ballast too, just working out the best way to distribute that weight.

Mafs!!

And I just got a HUGE confidence boost.

The Hong Kong race was run using racing medium tyres, car set and tuned according to rules, and with 94 kg of ballast weight.

Check it out:

race result:

fastest lap:

spending five hours to find the perfect setup really paid out,I guess...

Why add 94kg of Ballast to the Ford and 42kg to the Holden?

This increases the maximum weight by 42kg of bolth cars from where they can equaly be 1658kg if you only add 52kg only to the Ford.

you know, it was a toss-up of which series to do in my mind between this and the World Skyline Tour by Nissan. i think i might do the WST in the period between the end of Aussie V8s season 1 and the start of season 2. how does that sound?

Ok So Im doing some calculations here and so Far this is what Ive turned up. (All Hp calculations were done With HP Not PS)

The Comodore (Without a oil Change) Has..

678hp

1700kg

Power to Weight Ratio = 0.18090330991755

The Commodore With a Oil Change has

692hp

1700kg

Power to Weight Ratio = 0.18463877649402

The FPV GT Has

674hp

1700kg

Power to weight ratio = 0.17983603375284

Of course EVERYBODY Running this car will get a Oil Change, the reason is that after a few hundred miles you get bad oil Hp loss, The Ristriction of a oil change for the Commodore would require people to buy a new car everytime they lose Hp to Bad oil, OR they get a oil change, but then they dont have 678hp, they have 692hp. This Chnages the power to weight ratio (That is already at an advantage for the Commodore)

That creats a 0.00480274274118 Advantage for the Commodore, This is Due to the 18hp.

So in conclusion anybody driving the Commodore would have an unfair advantage over a FPV GT Driver, both drvers being of equal Driving Skill, Dont you think?

Well, honestly I don't know that it matters alot. Those wank* Holden drivers will never beat me ;)

But it could be solved by reducing the ballast on the FPV GT most easily, or by reducing the modifications to the Holden. I'm also waiting for the Carbon Driveshaft and possibly an LSD (2 Way!) to be added to the list of allowed modifications, so that it's all legit-like when I run with them.

*Sarcasm. No offense meant.

Im curently looking for a ballance (Either reduced parts on the holden or Reduced weight on the GT, should have something soon)

OK Here

FPV with all specified modifications only (Specifically only Stage 1 Weight Reduction) EXCEPT 0 Ballast.
0.19012516006208 @ 1608kg 674hp

FPV with all specified modifications only (Specifically only Stage 1 Weight Reduction) EXCEPT 6kg of Ballast only.
0.18941837508044 @ 1614kg 674hp

Commodore with all specified modifications EXCEPT 0 Ballast and a Oil change.
0.18931599519893 @ 1658kg 692hp

By Removing the Oil Change ristriction from the Commodore and removing all ballast from its prerequisits, it will be More Equal to a FPV with Only 6kg off ballast.

This will also reduce the weight of both vehicles in turn it should produce faster laps.

See you talk about the Commodore with the oil change but what about the FPV with the oil change?? It will go up aswell to around the 685-690hp range itself, therefore the playing field is levelled out again.

Mafs!!

The FPV GT with an oil change has 684HP at the garage screen & tuning screen, and 674HP at the car info screen with an oil change, which is what he's talking about, because the Commodore has 687HP without an oil change.

"The FPV GT with an oil change has 684HP at the garage screen & tuning screen"

I got 722hp at the garage & tuning screen, does anyone else get this? It's exactly as specced. It was a 0 Mile FPV GT and after tuning it had 651 hp, then I did an oil change and it shot up to 722hp.

Any ideas?

There is a Glitch in the game causing most of the Hp readings to be PS variables with the HP mark next to them (For Proof, change the mesurment to PS and ALL readings will be Identical, and The PS Reading will match Number 722hp for the Commodore, at the select car point [as well as a few other spots] By All other mesurments used, Hp for example)

So To get the actual Hp of a Car you have to select it in the garage watch it spin and read the Small Number at the Bottom left with other car specs.

FPV With a Oil Change (as its a Specified Mod in the prerequisits) has 674hp The 684 reading is in PS mesurement.

The Commodore Without a Oil Change has 678hp and with a Oil change it has 692hp

Its specified to NOT get a Oil change, its its specific directions to only apply the listed options for each car, the FPV having a Oil change as a Option, the Commodore does not. The reason must of been to ballance the HP, but the previouse mentioned issue revealed its flaw.
