The best display settings

I'm trying to sort out my PS2 setup ready for GT4's release. So I'd like to know what computer display set ups are people running GTP on?

I currently have a Pinnacle TV card, using DScaler TV software on a 21" CRT monitor. I'm happy enough with this set up, but would like to improve the sharpness of the images on the screen. Going from Pinnacles software to the free DScaler was a big step, but it's still a tad fuzzy. Am I ever going to get pin sharp images with a TV Card setup?

So here are my questions.....
What make/model of TV card would you recommend?
What TV card software do you use?
Do you use a TFT or CRT monitor?
Are there any better (PS2 to phono) leads than the standard ones?
Are there any Windows display settings I should think of changing? If so what to?

Any help would be much appreciated. Also if people have any screen captures they wouldn't mind posting up, that would be even better.

Cheers

Jamie

i dunno, i play on a 53" widescreen TV, though i've been thinking about getting a TV card to record replay vids with, i was gonna go with an ATI though, i don't know how good the quality is, but it seemed decent

BUUUUUUUUUMP !.....

I'm currently trying to get the same razor sharp images with Dscaler. I'm using a 19" CRT monitor, and the best I've found so far is to let Dscaler switch the resolution to 1024x768x32 @ 120Hz. The Deinterlace mode I'm using ATM, is Video (Greedy, High Motion) which seems, if not as sharp as on the TV, a big improvement, at least now I can clearly see the track in New York.

I'm also using a Pinnacle card, the PCTV Stereo, and I've bought a semi expensive SVHS cable, but that was money well spent...

I don't think there's any settings regarding the video card that matters much.. (Radeon 9800XT btw.)

1) TV card: I have an ATI TVwonder card. I think the most important fact is what chip the TV card uses. TVWonder has a BT848A ( a very common one )

2) I use the Dscaler for Windows and TVtime ( based on Dscaler ) for Linux.

3) I have a CRT monitor

4) Maybe the most important point: Use the Svideo output from the Playstation to feed the TVcard instead of the composite one. It makes a lot of difference.

5) Dscaler setting: As Flerbizky mentioned, the Greedy high motion setup is the best for Dscaler

P.S. The Sega dreamcast had a much better video output ( direct VGA ) and I still play Granturismo2 on .. my Dreamcast using the Bleemcast emulatoer software. The picture looks great.

Sony SHOULD definitely add a VGA output on their next console.

The ATI All-in-wonder 9800Pro would probably be a good choice, if you have about $250 to spare!

What you need is a videoprocessor or software for adaptive deinterlacing. DVDO, Lumagen, Faroudja, Runco, Immersive, Teranex and Snell & Wilcox have good (but expensive) videoprocessors. To let games/videos look good, you have to upscale the video signal to the native resolution of your monitor. 480i (640x480 interlaced) is just enough for an ordinary TV but much too "low" for any pc monitor. However, the scalers on graphic cards aren´t any good (3-4 taps). Hardware videoprocessors have 12+ tap scalers.

You could buy a videoprocessor card like the Immersive Holo3DGraph II

http://www.ivojo.co.uk/immersive-holo3dgraph-ii.htm

It even has a YUV-In (YUV is better than SVideo). However, this card can´t record videos and is much too expensive for what it can.
