Polyphony have tinkered with a lot of standards and most look better, some however look fantastic infact they look positively ' Premium ' so far I've found the following cars to be exceptional

Nissan R390 road car

Jaguar XJ220

Jaguar XJ220 Race Car

Aston Martin DB7

Pagani Zonda

RUF

If you have not acquired any of these models then you will be pleasantly surprised, please post any other standard gems that you find.

The old Mini. under 600kg and goes like a rocket with a bit of tuning to 500pp+

Lotus Elan is great for an FR version of lightweight fun.

Both embarrass much newer, more powerful machinery due to weight and nimbleness.

EDIT, sorry, didn't read full OP. I was going for the driving angle rather than the visuals. Usually having too much fun to care how it looks.

The Caterham Fireblade, they made a new cockpit for it & looks almost premium now.

Same as GT5, nothing new about it.
We already have a thread with pictures, most good looking cars and some bad examples are listed there.

It definitely is not the same as GT5, I'm finding loads of standards that have had a huge makeover and they look premium 71' 240 Z, Aston Martin Vantage, RUF'S, Jag XJ220,Aston DB7, Dodge Charger etc

4 of 5 Rufs are GTP famous for being nearly on the level of premium cars like the GTR Proto and the FT-86 II.

I was just driving the Nissan Skyline HT 2000GT-R (KPGC10) '70 and noticing that it doesn't have all the telltale signs of a standard car (at least from the outside). The edges around the windows aren't all super jagged and blurry, the photo mode lets you zoom in on it, and put next to a premium car, there's really not a huge difference in quality even up close.

I know that not all standard cars are upgraded like this, but anyone care to mention which standard cars have premium quality?

You do know there's been a whole thread about this for months, right?

And a mod closes a redundant thread in 5..4..3..2..
:gtplanet:, having a search feature for your convenience since 2001 :gtpflag:

this thread would be much more awesome in the photography forum with pics of all these good looking standards.
