Something short that takes 1-2 minutes per lap. A track for a general tune set up. Any opinions?

You can always use Tsukuba for testing purposes. It's a good track to test turning, but you really can't test top speed on it. Each lap takes about 1 to 3 minutes, depending on what vehicle you use.

The top gear test track. It is probably longer then 2 mins depending on what car you use but I believe it is a good track to get a good tune.

The track has to be one you like, know well and enjoy driving.

I think the limits are too imprecise on the Top Gear track (just my opinion).

I tend to use Tsukuba to get the handling and Daytona Road Course for balance.

Suzuka's another good one (if you can take the pain) because the corners are very technical and require a well set-up car to get a good lap.

Special Stage Route 5 for mine, nice long straight, some medium speed turns, a tight hairpin, kerbs to unweight off at the apexes and you sure know about it if you overcook it into a wall. Nice length too.

I think you need more than one track to make your setup.
You can start with suzuka east, or Tsukuba for first adjustments.
Then you can go to Suzuka (full) to improve your first setup. And then, you can make your final test in the green hell.
If it works in Suzuka or/and Nürburgring, it works in almost tracks...
If you want a setup for urban tracks, you can start in London.

I like Deep Forest to start with, and change to Suzuka for final tune. I sometimes use Madrid in the middle because of those fountain turns.

If you don't run on a course with some high speed turns you could have problems with the front end washing out and never know it until you race on a track with high speed corners.

Same here.

I also use Nurb GP/F. But I suggest Top Gear Test Track if you want something short. Tsukuba is good for testing handling. If you don't care about the time it takes to complete one lap, Nordschleife's the answer.

I find Grand Valley Speedway great for testing car's and perfecting set up's.

That track has almost everything required to put a car through it's paces.

I like Trial Mountain. It's a fun track with tight corners and it has a semi long straight to get some serious speed.

High Speed Ring - I use it for high speed testing, race cars and things alike.
Eiger Nordwand - I use that for testing low-speed handling.

Grand Valley Speedway is what I use, or Deep Forest Raceway to find out which car corners best. For a sheer speed test use either of the Superspeedways.

Trial Mountain and Deep Forest Raceway for me. Both tracks are short, has enough tight corners and also bumps in the road to let you know your suspension is too stiff. Top Gear is too flat for this.

I think the Nordshleife is the best, turns, tight corners, and several straightaways.

I usually just use deep forest and trial mountain, both are good on reverse too if you want to test torque going up hills.

My fist, and so far only and saddly abandoned tunning project was an R8 tuned in Autumn Ring, I found the track to be short enough to not get dull and had a little bit of everything, hairpins, sweepers, right angle corners, chicanes, and a semi-circle.

If you need to tune in a hurry, then Autumn Ring Mini gets a car pretty close to its best handling state as tuning directly on Deep Forest Raceway. Keep in mind though, there are at minimum three setups for any particular car to set competitive lap times on any course in the game. Tuning for Deep Forest is not the same as tuning for Tsukuba.
