So, just like in GTPlanet, post here anything about bikes and biking. Whether it be pictures, ride reports, mountain biking or road bikes, post it here.
No motorbikes, just push bikes.

I own a Haro mountain bike. Older model with the rotating gear changer instead of the paddles. Also V-Brakes instead of disc brakes. I'll get a photo later on. Caused so many injuries, yet I love the thing! 👍

I have a pretty basic 21-speed Dunlop mountain bike. Regularly ride to work when I don't feel like running the Accord around.

Don't have a motorcycle license, but I have a pretty basic Dunlop mountain bike...my 2nd experience with a motorcycle saw me come off and fracture my right knee. So yeah, I don't have a very good history with them. However, my mum has a pretty big interest in bikes which has rubbed off on me. She owns a Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special much like this:
Sorry I should edit the OP, this is only for push bikes not motorbikes.

I bought a 24 speed GT Avalanche 2.0 a year or two ago. Doesn't get much use though as i'm a lazy bugger. :(

I'd like to take it on some local trails, but they seem quite hilly and i'm not very fit (at least i don't think i am).

Unlike bikes i've owned in the past, i haven't really tried to go too fast on this yet. My confirmed record is 64 km/h down a hill, but i'm almost positive i've been at least 80km/h down a MUCH steeper hill - didn't have a speedo on the bike that time though as the cable snapped after getting caught on the wheel. Eyes were watering like crazy and i could hardly see where i was going, but i didn't back off. :D

I've managed 50km/h on the flat before (no tail wind either?) as i drag raced my fiance in her Hiace van and she only passed me when she sped up to 54 km/h or so.

But its the best bike i've ever owned anyway. :)

I've got a SANTA CRUZ BLUR LT SPX AM mountain bike. It is really hardcore but so is the mountain biking scene over here in Southern California. I love it and I've been riding on the trails since I was around 7.

Man i'm unfit.

Tried a (small) mountain bike trail last week and even before i got to the main part i was buggered and feeling a little sick.

There was an awfully strong head wind though.

Does anyone have any tips for fitness for cycling? Like things you should and shouldn't do before, during and after? Not many hills in my local area to ride up but want to try get fitter so that i can do mountain bike tracks easier.

Always warm up first (obviously), try to approach the hill in a high gear so you have speed but as you you onto the hill change down before it gets too hard to pedal. As for fitness, just cycle a few km's a day.
