The brake balance setting is broken

Hmm perhaps the cars you use work well with default settings. Have you tried adjusting the brake balance?

If you try ( for example) one of these cars with bb 10/0 and then 0/10, you shouldn't see any effect. This is the main problem.

Right with it 10/0, 5/5, 0/10 it doesnt matter it will always brake like it is on 5/5.

Odd. I always drive withoyt abs, and I haven't had any problems.

I knew this would come up which is why I have a scenario for you to test:

I Have a great example for everyone to try out, using the Pagani Huayra on sport hard tires with a bias of 1/3 (my preference), go drive around in a career mode race. note the pressure it takes to lock up.
Then take the same car to free run or online, and note the pressure it takes the lock up.

Well now this is a very confused thread, thanks mods. Please put my post at the top as it sets the tone for this thread. even my title explained a bit more.
Is there any way to reverse this so my post is at the top and the others are added to the bottom?

The reason I ask this is because this topic has been discussed a lot but it always ends up buried in comments and gets derailed. I made my thread to sum up this topic in an simple concise manner and now that's all out the window.

I just want this thread to start with a clearly stated topic rather than a long conversation hashing out whats going on, as most people wont read though the progression of threads like that.

Toyota FT1 doesn't have anti-lock brakes, it simply has Insta-Lock brakes, and brakes in a ruler-straight line for some strange reason on deceleration.

T500RS user, with braking worse than GT5 v1.0 (no abs) bb 0/0, will try 1/1 to be sure. (perhaps 0 is 10?)

waiting patiently for the next couple of patches, GT6 should be far better by March~April timeframe. we're in public beta test now, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm ok with the public beta-test if it includes some sort of communication. Updates come out with all sorts of ninja-fixes that WE have to waste time figuring out!

Does PD not realize that with concise, accurate, and honest update logs they would be helping US help THEM? ALL other racing sims print out a nice page of fixes and information for each update for this very reason. There are no secrets being lost by doing this.

You're killing us here, PD. Help us help you. We work for free!

It's freaking unbeliavable.

I think that they hide everything because they are affraid that we'll end up figuring out the bugs that are implemented by the updates, not the fixes.

Single most ridiculous thing I've read on here in a while, please think about what you are insinuating and how that would make absolutely no sense. It's more like someone forgot to include the patch notes on what fixes were included in the interior patch. GT5 had patch notes that told you what they fixed and many things were fixed but they were found after the fact. Patches are sent out to repair certain issues but it's nearly impossible to fix everything and not have some sort of effect on something else negatively.
Mind you this patch was not a fix it patch, it was more or less just the addition of the interior and other things which were probably off with the 1.02 update, like tweaks of sorts.
I remember we got a patch in GT5 that changed the physics to be global no matter the mode and then a fix that came after that which of all things changed engine and exhaust notes on some cars and it sure wasn't in the patch notes either. So why are you guys up in arms as if this has never happened?
Sit back and relax a bit, the game has been out for a solid month and closing in on two months. Why don't you just wait while they tinker away at fixing some of the hiccups that actually cause playing the game to be a chore, like the fact that we need user end calibration of controller triggers and wheel pedals sensitivity(one size fits all does not apply to this and it's about time it needs to change as the tighter the physics get the better we must be able to tighten up/tune our controls we use to play it).
I haven't had any problems with braking at all really, but I do have issues with the RA menu working in whatever mode it feels like. I use a steering wheel to play the game G25 and it rare I come across locking of brakes since that's the last thing I want to happen when I race anyway. I used to play with either DS3 or G25 but since I got new controllers the controllers themselves are ridiculously sensitive and go from nothing to full in less that a few mm and I'm so serious it's nigh on impossible to drive high powered cars without the tap method and early shifting. But with a wheel I more or less total control over steering and throttle and brake inputs and render brake balance fiddling almost non existent. I'll be testing ABS off as I use ABS 1 since I haven't bothered to disable it but I will but I think it's a useless notion as nearly no one drives cars without ABS even race cars come with those things activated as well as TCS these things are built to protect lives not to dumb down driving they help you push the limit without having a knife to your throat the whole time.

First, sarcasm is your friend.

Second thing, there isn't changelogs, so we are all guessing about the bugs, the fixes and even about what we regard as bugs, but they could just think that is ok.

Beyond that, this wall of text of yours is as good as my sarcasm.

Am I the only one who noticed that the RA menu for DFGT isn't even working? The menu appears when I press the enter button but all the tuning options are greyed out and cannot be adjusted.

I'm glad I found this thread - I thought I was going mad!

I was tuning a car yesterday in free run. Tried 0/10 on the brakes - fronts locked up first. Tried 10/0 in case things were just back to front - fronts locked up first...

We'll just have to wait for a fix I guess.
