Well, since CSLACR put it that way, dark brownish or a DARK gray matte I'm guessing.

Funny, my 540i with ceramic pads creates brown dust.
I was thinking more of a graphite color. I appreciate the pointless thread comment. Thanks!

Ceramic pads are far more common nowadays, a lot less dust and lighter too. But if you have changed pads before you may have noticed the inside of your wheel may have been brownish. If not, walk around a parking lot looking at front wheels. A few Windstar's and Caravan's ought to due the trick
