I think its dependant on how much of a fan of F1 you are, its like 911 variants, the average person will do the durr hurr beetle or it looks the same but a more avid fan will notice the differences, even further they will feel the differences and adapt to best utilize those strengths and mitigate the weaknesses. I personally have no interest in F1 but to break things down many people dont want to play Automobilista because it looks old, cars might be nice but graphics have in general gotten better so anything under the average is more noticeable.I wonder how much difference there is between RSS V10 and the Kunos F2004, and other great free mods like the F2002. Don't forget also of Automobilista's Formula V10. It just seems so redundant and not worth the price given there are lots of great and free options for a V10 F1 car already. What's next? RSS making a 1960s style F1 car when we already have the full season of 1967 courtesy of Bazza?

The RSS mod is based on the ferrari f1 car of year 2000, I have no idea how that compares to the f2002 of 2002 or the f2004 of 2004. If its anything like the F300 of 1998 that i worked on a very long time ago with virtua simulazioni then it was in a state of rapid growth, the f300 went from being insanely oversteery and unstable to being too stable and understeering and then vaulted back and forth as the engineers tested different configurations. I reckon the car 2 years later is likely kinda similar as it approached perfection in 2004 with some instability, i have idea since I do not like F1(tried getting into it with the F300 mod but its not for me).
Back on topic to your original question, is it redundant? I think its just simply down to how much of a fan of F1 you are, its not for someone like me, I've told them that they are saturating themselves with open wheelers so GT or Prototypes would probably be their best bet. Their GT car pack is their best selling pack but took the most time so its a balancing act I guess. There are a lot of popular sectors not covered in AC yet so it's not like they are short of options.
It's the time delta indicator (slower/faster than best lap time)What is the sometime green and sometime red dot on the top left of the wheel representing?

Well I'm the biggest F1 fan as any (been watching since 2002, so the V10 era is definitely my favourite), but there is a limit to that as well. Also with a generic car like the RSS, no matter how good it is will never feel as special as an actual licensed model. Which is where their paid model backfires IMO. You can apply Ferrari liveries as much as you want, it's still won't be the F2000. It's nice to compare but personally I already have the F2002 and F2004 which were the 2 most dominant cars of the Schumi era, so that's enough for me.
I really liked their Formula Hybrid (Kunos' version wasn't out yet at that time) and the Lotus 79 look alike because they were unique. Their GT pack is great but again not really that special in the grand scheme of what's already out there. I dunno, RSS being such talented modders I wish they would focus their energy and time on new and unique cars that haven't been previously seen in any sim instead of rehashing the same things over and over.
