AI tyre wear is always at a different rate than us in all events custom or otherwise
From my experience I don’t think they do, but they have traction control on and smooth inputs (regular AI particularly, haven’t really seen Sophy’s inputs), so their stints last longer.

Man, I've been battling settings for this V8 series for over a week now and was disappointed with everything I did. Tried the strong slipstream and didn't see a difference with them not passing. Tried a few other things and just wasn't satisfied. Fiddled with the BOP a bit more and finally had a good race. Suzuka is very good with Sophy, that's for sure.

Either way I switched to making the rabbit car also a Gr.4 car but added some power to it would pull away from the pack. Would rather have that than something that would lap us before the mid point of the race. Started P17 and finished P6. Would have had P5, maybe P4 but I braked too late into the last chicane and had to detour the astroturf so I dropped a couple spots.

I am satisfied with what I have here and will probably start doing my live stream races next Sunday.

Nothing special. I just did a quick Sophy one lapper on the Ring with Gr.B cars. BoPed so I had no power compared to the modern rally cars. So I was at the back with two other WRX's,a Celica, and a couple of Peugeots. Still fun though!

Chaos happened in front of me at the same turn and with two types of cars but 4 "different" drivers. I guess the Sophy Hyundai and Peugeot drivers wanted to tandem drift. lol

Just finished qualifying for Sunday's race at Suzuka. I decided to do 2 laps with each car since switching between different cars would require some "warmup" for me. Usually I can acclimate after a lap or so. Field is very close, but the cars drive pretty different from one to the other, so we'll see how it goes. You'll probably recognize some of these names. 😊

After every race, success ballast will be added 30kg for 1st, 20kg for 2nd, 10kg for 3rd.

And here is the current BOP:

Doing replicas of some championships its my new addiction in the GT7.

Today I've tried with the 1993 Japan Touring Chapmionship. Some M3 e30, Civic, Sierra and plenty of GT-R R32. All them with similar PR

I did it in sophy and later in Normal IA cause I wanted to rain (having R05 at the middle of the race) but it didn't. The metereolgy of this game is a mistery some times.

I am LIVE with the first V8 GR4 series Sophy AI race.

Edit: Thanks to those who joined in to watch. Was a pretty good race overall, finished P2. Didn't have the pace at the end to catch the leader and definitely didn't have the fuel. Was interesting to see a handful of the AI cars make a second pit stop with a couple laps to go. Part of me wants to figure out how to prevent that, but then again it's one of those "short fueled on their stop to make up time and couldn't make it to the end" real life scenarios, so we'll go with it.

Here's the results and the points as they stand after Round 1:

Great racing! Was there watching. Hopefully Sophy will just get better. Specially like that situation you had with the conga line behind the Vette trying to overtake the Jag(?)/MB(?) for all those laps. I think the Vette had a few chances but the AI coding just doesn't want it to. And yeah those weird pits they make too. Otherwise, it was fun to watch.
Just let us know if you'll stream the next round.

Really good stuff! Hopefully the Integrale Custom Career will get enough traction eventually that YouTube is replete with examples of people posting their races.

Hey guys Im new to this discussion and this is probably discussed before but the CPU cars selected from my garage are racing with default tires when I have either upgraded or downgraded the tires. Is there a way to set the CPU cars with different tires?

Also how do I make the CPU cars slower? I noticed they are faster when I added tuning parts to my cars but when I reduced power with power restrictor they are just as fast as without it

This is a bug that needs to be fixed but hasn't been, unfortunately. AI cars can only be on RH tire or whatever they came with as default.

There's a handy spreadsheet knocking around which lists the default tyre as well as other data. I use it often to arrange custom grids knowing that they'll all have the same compound.

You can always just give them RH, but with those cars for which the default is a Comfort grade tyre, I find it a bit of a jarring experience.

Said spreadsheet is in my signature - Integrale tracker (though ofc it can be useful for other purposes).

1. Welcome
This tab has all sort of commentary describing the quirks of Custom Race mode and suggested best practices

2. Career Home
This tab is to track a long-play progression - there is an area for your bank account, garage and associated expenses, and payouts can be tallied by inputting a finishing position into the appropriate column. The series names, circuits, race lengths, entry restrictions, and weather/time of day settings are hardcoded here. Payouts are coded into a hidden ‘Aux’ sheet and governable by a single scalar you can play with to adjust things in bulk. I’ve tried to rig it to be somewhat appropriate to what you’d earn in GT7 with inflated payouts and 2nd place finishes behind a pace car, though ultimately you’ll need way more income in order to furnish the rest of the AI grids to exact spec.

3. Championship Tracker
This tab is to track an individual series/championship. You fill it out with finishing positions for each race, add series points to the season points total for each driver, and then delete the finishing positions and start over for the next series. The selector at the top dynamically populates the grid with the appropriate drivers, circuits, etc., all but drivers pulled from the Career Home tab. Drivers are in their own ‘Aux3’ sheet, as are the points awarded based on finishing position. You can optionally track a fastest lap, though I haven’t used it in a while since we figured out the pace car thing.

4. Rivals
As you go through a longer play, I’ve had fun/found it useful to track my opposing/AI driver’s personalities and preferences. Integrale’s author, @Theufcveteran, created bios for the pre-baked drivers, but of course it can be space to do your own thing. Bios and your additions (cars owned, notes on what car/livery types they like to use) are kept in a hidden ‘Aux4’ sheet

5. Full Car List
I maintain a spreadsheet with all the cars, including their default tire. This last part is pretty useful if you want to balance a custom grid using the same tire compound, as AI drivers won’t use anything aside from default or RH.

6. AI Report Card
This doesn’t apply to Sophy, but there remain some circuits where Reggy AI is actually competent - and some where he’s hopeless. I started this a long time ago and only occasionally remember to update it, but it may be a useful reference as you’re considering which circuits to run. There is some great racing to be had at non-Sophy layouts, still! This is also the tab that contains the hidden logic referenced by the Tracker tab to color code Sophy-eligibility.

Bit of an Integrale ad (as ever with me), but hopefully relevant and useful to the budding custom championship author, too…as long as I’m blabbing, I also remade Gran Turismo 3 in a similar signature-housed spreadsheet (requires you already have all the ‘prize cars’ to award yourself throughout though), if that’s more your vibe.
