With Jordan's blessing, I'd like to announce to all of you the opening of The Car Blog.

The Car Blog (TCB for short) is a car forum, weblog, and online magazine all mixed together into one informative (and opinionated!) website. There are other car websites and blogs out there – most of them are drop-dead ugly, difficult to use, boring, don't invite the opinions of the readers, or all of the above. TCB avoids all of those fallacies. It brings quality automotive journalism to the online scene, and invites you to participate in the discussion.

We hope you'll enjoy it, and do please contribute whatever thoughts you have to the Comments section under each article. :)

Note: I did not have anything to do with the site design or creating/running the site in any way—I'm just a writer and pseudo-advertiser—so please don't congratulate me for it, but the people who actually did it. ;)

I don't particurily like that effect on the header other than that it's nice. Did you two create it?

I like the idea. Nice. Looks Good.

Is the carblog part of GTP or is it somebody's seperate site with a different server and webhost. How can we post on it as well. I realize it won't be posting like this forum is, but how can we put our comments on and stuff.

Oh no no, this has nothing to do with GTP (thus the first-sentence disclaimer) – It's actually headed by some of the biggest names in the web design field who've decided to put this pet project together. I just happened to be recruited as an author because of a post I made on one of their blogs. ;) I had nothing to do with the design of the site or running it.

Nice job, Sage! I read the rant about how auto manufacturer's sites all suck - funny stuff. I haven't had too much time to explore, but it looks like an interesting site. Congratulations on being recruited!

Writer, car-lover (go figure), needs 36-hour days. Sage has loved cars ever since he was about 3 years old, which meant lots and lots of Matchbox cars. The first job he ever wanted to have was to be a car designer, although now he's looking towards interface design as a more plausible occupation. He drives a 94 Ford Ranger and an 00 Subie Outback, and loves the latter infinitely more just because it doesnt have a floor-mounted shifter like the truck does. He has a busy schoolday, starting with Cross Country practice at 6 in the morning and ending with a miniscule amount of homework done by midnight. Sage is an Apple aficionado, thinks CSS is horribly fascinating, and is anal retentive about stupid things like the proper usage of an em-dash. Even though theyre not alike in any way whatsoever, his two favorite bands are They Might Be Giants and Radiohead. He serves other Internet duties as a moderator at GTPlanet.net and the lead developer for its Insider magazine. Sometimes hes known for rambling and being scattered, but who isnt?

👍 👍

Hehe, anal rentative of stupid things.
