Famine
You'd be wrong if you said octopi. You'd be right if you said octopuses - though you'd be incorrect, almost no-one would know and it is accepted in English. It's just a peculiarity of the original Greek word - or rather words.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up!

Google "octopi". :dopey:

Guess a lot of people say that, but I'm glad I know the truth.

G'nite, it's 5 in the morning :yuck:

Famine
Same with fish. And deer.
I just realised. It may also be the same for breeds of fish.

Cod, Bass, Pike (or is it?) etc. Though I don't fish I may be wrong.

Also I don't think it applies to Sheep breeds as many are place names and I couldn't find anything on deer.

Ooo thats a good one.

If i asked you for sex, would your answer be the same as the answer to this question?

Look at the dogs. (pl)
Look at the dog. (s)

Look at the sheep. (pl)
Look at the sheep. (s)

Yeah, all the same

All the same as in sheep singular and sheep plural are all the same.

On reflection, I should've put "both the same", but there we are.

this thread is awesome  some really great questions in here been laughin for like 15 mins straight!

The core, plannets form from the core outwards, not the crust inwards.

Yes, that’s what they want you to think! And you believed them. Fool!

Isn't light only constant for a inertial observer?

The speed of light in a vacuum is constant. Light is not subject to inertia.

If you were driving forwards at the speed of light and turned your headlights on, then the light from them would recede from you at the speed of light. Both you and the light from your headlights would appear to recede from a stationary observer at the speed of light too - not you at the speed of light and your lights at twice that.

If light WERE subject to inertia, then our 18.5 billion year old universe, expanding at c, would be 37 billion light years across, rather than 18.5 billion light years.

If you break an object, you have broke it, however, when you brake in a car, you have braked? (Beat that, Famine)

GO FAMINE!!!!!

Ruler of all things intelligible... :dopey:

Sorry...

Words that sound the same, but use different forms.

It's alright.

I understood. I was just making a point that the entity known as 'Famine' is so intellectually advanced, that the closest intelligent being comparable, is none other than Mr. Albert Einstein, himself.

But, sadly, he's no longer in existence. So we'll have to do with Stephen Hawking.... :dunce:

Have a nice day, homie.

what is pi x pi + pi / pi - pi x pi + pi?

its do-able btw

It equals:

(pi*pi)+(pi/pi)-(pi*pi)+pi

So: (pi^2)+1-(pi^2)+pi

And: (pi^2)-(pi^2)+1+pi

Which means: 0+1+pi

Equals: pi+1

Therefore: pi x pi + pi / pi - pi x pi + pi = pi+1 :)
