Race the UK vs US Championship. Repeatedly. Until you get it.

The yellow Concept Car isn't one of the rarer prize cars. So you should get it within 5 tries maximum. The RX-7 A-Spec LM (won from the same series) took me around 20 tries in comparison.

Peoples mileage varies. I in general found the purple Concept Car and the RX7 Aspec LM in both colours about equally common, and the yellow Concept Car seemed rare.

But strangely, in my prize-car quest game

the yellow Concept Car appeared somewhat easily, and the purple Concept Car was the last of the 4 prizes to show up. The RX7 appeared 11 times before any Concept Car showed up, however.

It always seemed to me that "game maturity" somehow affected prize cars awarded, but that was probably an illusionary perception.

More definitively than that, I'd say the "randomness" appeared to get "stuck in a rut" in certain games. And sometimes that rut would appear to shift. Note that random does not necessarily imply uniform distribution. But people's experience would often seem to suggest that probabilities of different prizes might be changed dynamically by unknown factors involved in playing the game.

Yeah you're right. In my copy of the game, both prize cars of US vs JP appears equally common, but only one of the prize car in UK vs JP and US vs UK appear reliably in my garage (Cerbera LM and Concept Car). Through my whole GT1 gaming life (around 3600+ game days) I've only received 2 del Sol LMs (both black) and 1 RX-7 A-Spec LM (purple).
 
....more and more evidence towards the "random" aspect of the game, as you guys have already noted.

From what I remember, and this is going back 5 or more years, I didn't have any trouble getting any prize car in either colour that they came in. Unfortuntaly in my game if I already had the car then it was sold to finance my racing, hence ending up with 25,863,950 CR. When I finally start GT2 with the cars and money from GT then I'll save any winning cars that I might already have to enter in my Hybrid garage for 'experiments'.

One suspects the intention was to have the powerful Concept Car ("LM") appear in lineups, but that some mistake along the way ended up with the non-race-modded slightly-tuned B License Gold prize car (orange, sort of copper, in colour) being entered into the lineups instead.

All LM prize cars are available in two colours except for the Chaser LM (black only), and also the non-race-mod Nismo GTR LM (prize for SSR11 ii Endurance Race--silver only).

if youre right, then IMHO its because the Concept Car LM and Normal Concept car has same names ! (in garage or in finish results in races) so, somebody missed that fact, added ''Concept Car'' as a possible cars in that championships and the result is obvious :)

BTW i found that normal Concept Car is a perfect choice to race it in Normal Car Cup against NSX S Zero. Great races

:facepalm: There's nothing wrong with reviving threads! As long as the info is on-topic, and new discussion is being added. karelpipa has tried to add a reason for Sport Wagon's intuition. At least karelpipa SEARCHED (as the mods constantly tell us to), found a relevant thread he/she wanted to post in, and added some new discussion.

Same goes for all the other threads posted into, all dozen or so of them. They're all on-topic, I'm not seeing any spam or trolling at all.

I sympathize with you karelpipa, I remember playing GT2 back in 2004, in the days when everyone was doing GT3/4. It took me awhile to find a place to post stuff on GT2, which of course was here at GTP. :)

I mean, Crooooow, think about it. If what you say were true, everybody who's posted in the GT2 "Searching for Evidence of hidden things" thread since 2008 should be written up.
