as the Explorer car is hardest to get.
Maybe for the players that started later. For me hobbies came late when I was done with the game (end game basically).
Collector came firs super fast.
Explorer was easy and actually fun... for me. Most of the objectives require a single run. Like sail from New York to San Francisco in less than 48 minutes... Ok, that one is annoying ngl. 😂
Racer was a pain. The only one that requires actual grind. Most of the objectives I still haven't complete. Got the car eventually doing weekly objectives.

Is anyone else finding that the weekly hobbies are glitched the last 2 weeks - mine are not resetting properly?

Your comments above is why I don't buy live service games early in their life - you end up with things like this that should have been in at launch, because the game was released "incomplete". I remember the barebones games structure of TC2 early on.

They've atleast come up with a better solution with the playlist challenges in TCM, although again it feels like the game was lacking at launch and I'm glad I waited until year 2.

This week's summit in TC2 is a fun one, I enjoyed all the events - even the Jet Sprint was bearable!

I did notice that the Weekly Hobbies have been the same recently... not complaining, though.

I'm also enjoying this week's Summit. This JS event is more tolerable for me compared to the others. Also glad the only car I had to buy is the Pulse AGP, which is my favorite in the discipline.

Love the sound on the pulse AGP plus it handles really well, so I am an instant fan of it 👍

Yeah it's not resetting. Same as the vanity shop.

This week summit also have boosted nitro for Drag cars which is quite rare and the only one you need. I still don't have a boosted one, just a regular one.

I also have a mashed-up Boost set for Drag, but a full maxed set would be awesome. As for the Loot Digger set for Air Race... eh, it's nice I guess...

Nowadays I only boot the game up to see what vanities are available, but...

I think this is the third week I'm seeing the same vanities.

Doesn't matter if I toggle the recommendations on or off, still only get these.

Something wrong with the game?
I didn't try anything in particular, but strangely enough I was finally able to see the new vanities.

Maybe IVT has finally caught on and fixed this?

Weekly Hobbies are still bugged. They seem to revert to your saved status at a point in time during a recent week, instead of reverting to zero.

For me, this means the only Hobby I can complete each week is, luckily, the "find 5 crates" one, which is an Explorer one and I am still nearly 200 stars to go on that one.
(I already have the Collector car and am only 3or4 stars short for the Racer car = 99 more races in the Nissan GTR :D ).

The boosted Nitro for Drag from last week made this week's Drag event super easy.

Next week's summit is another expensive one due to the McLaren...

So yeah, vanities are refreshing for me (pretty expensive set this week). But the Hobbies are still the same.

Great! The issues with the site continue. Now it's adding images upside down 😭
Anyway. I finally have the Racer car!

I've been grinding this weekend on the Mitsubishi/Nissan Racer Hobby. Just have 15 races left to finish, and I've been balancing the mileage of the cars I use (about 55 miles between most of them).

Also finally have a proper full Fame set for SR, so been using that during the hobby races on Ace.

I see we have the Huracan Performante coming up in a Crew 2 summit. This does seem to be a summit exclusive in The Crew 2, which I thought was odd, as summit cars aren't normally standard retail cars. Presumably for that reason, it's available in Motorfest to simply purchase for credits, so the only reasons to get it from the Crew 2 summit are if you don't already have it in Motorfest, as it saves you 1.3m credits in Motorfest, or if you want to have it in The Crew 2 to use it in The Crew 2.

I hope when the offline patch will be added that roaming on the map and not being active for 10 minutes because something happen IRL won't kick the player while offline.

I mean, it's really annoying to hurry up in the bathroom just not to get kicked in the game.

In those cases, I quickly open a race event and pause it as soon as the race starts.

Since the single player races in this game are essentially "offline mode," you won't get kicked from the server, and this way you can eat, take a bath, go to the toilet, etc. without worrying about time.

It would be nice if they could make a partially offline version that would be commercially viable for quite a few years before having to fully shut down all the servers. What I'm envisaging is get rid of the servers that let people move about the open world together, so no multiplayer racing, no seeing other players in the open world in real time, no crews etc. But keep servers to run summits and event leaderboards, transfer new inventory to Motorfest etc. I'd have thought running only those servers would be quite a small fraction of the total cost.

I hope at some point everyone would be able to get summit cars. Either they could be very, very bucks expensive or with some sort of prestige ticket-like system.

You need to start any race than pause it in race. It will run for much longer. Same in Motorfest.
And there will be no reason to kick you out of the offline mode. Just like in Forza when you enter solo mode if inactive for a period of time during online session.

I think this would be a really good scenario, and with the player base dropping off anyway (there are <7,000 playing the Xbox summits currently) they could possibly retire servers as user numbers continue to drop. User numbers will inevitably drop once:
A) you can no longer import vehicles and vanities to TCM;
B) summits cease.

The time span for TC2 might be limited by licensing agreements (only Ivory know the answer to this), so there might be a "deadline" at which they have to delist the game, but this scenario could mean the servers could stay up after that point.

I dont think the summits will be viable to include in the game files when the servers finally go down (I assume they are all currently generated from the Ivory end).

Less serious question - in your scenario, how they can continue to call the game The Crew 2 if you can no longer join a crew ;)

@strela Thanks - helpful advice, unless you REALLY need to pee, in which case you might not be able to wait until the race finishes loading

@breeminator I am guessing that Lamborghini summit is going to be an expensive one unless you already have the required vehicles. At least you definitely WON'T need the Lamborghini boat

Ultimately, as with @Johnny Caisse , I hope they find a way to make summit vehicles available for bucks when the game goes offline. Prestige tickets (or Backstage Passes like FH5) wouldn't work for TC2 I think, as there would be no way to earn them after the end of the Summits unless they added some kind of "custom mode" but that doesn't seem practical.

One thing that has to be considered is that, whilst Ivory are rightfully allocating resources to making offline for TC2, those resources are inevitably going to be limited, so I can see the quickest solutions being the ones used.

The quickest solution for summit exclusive vehicles (and vanities) would be to not make them available at all, I don't think they will do this, but the next quickest solution is probably to add them to the bucks store.

(Wow, thats a long post - sorry!)

PS @GTvsForza I am also rotating the cars for the Nissan/Mitsu hobby, but I run one car for 50/60 miles per each playing session.

Maybe you can get Prestige Tickets through the Custom Races? Not sure how that would work once the servers get axed. Hopefully you can still use your own races.

My concern with offline mode is the risk that community-created liveries will no longer be available.

As you may have experienced, in TC2, the livery may sometimes disappear from the thumbnail of a car that has a community livery applied.

In other words, this suggests that community liveries (probably) are not downloaded to the user's local storage like Forza, but rather access the applied livery data from the server each time.
So I'm worried that while local liveries will likely remain accessible in offline mode, cars that had community liveries applied to them will lose their liveries.

I have the skills to create liveries and layer groups, but I still enjoy using some of the amazing liveries created by the community, and it would be a huge pain for me and other players like me if we were to lose those favorites in offline mode.

Agreed - it seems to be using a similar approach to GT Sport and we lost the "downloaded " liveries for that when the game went offline.

PS I need 1.5m for this week's summit and almost 1m for the Veneno next week (atleast I have the other cars already) 😭

The week after that there is no car, only vanities to win.

End of August is Road to Oahu - make sure to play at least one summit race that week as you get the Mazda RX3 Taiygo Edition for BRONZE which is supposed to have a very high top speed.

My weekly hobbies have reset to a different status this week. "Drive 92 miles" reset fully (previously it was "stuck"), get 5 crates reset fully (previously it only reset to 3/5 completed) and skills partially reset. Not fully resolved, but slightly better than before.

I finished the "150 miles on a bike listening to Rock radio" hobby tonight. Drove the 66 route from Chicago

down to St Louis (the ride inside up to the top of the Gateway Arch and the views from the top are fantastic),

through Amarillo (and yes this WAS a Texas Sunday morning!)

Santa Fe (which is a gorgeous city)

Past Meteor Crater

and Monument Valley

Through Holbrook (we spent a night there but not in the teepee motel) across to Kingman which I haven't done since early on when I bought the game.

Always brings back lots of great memories from 2012.

Nearly done with the Lambo/Koenisgegg Drift hobby. I've been mainly using the Aventador and Murci, since I've used the Agera for the other hobby (Listen to Hip Hop while driving a Drift car).
