I'm not normally keen on one car summits, but I quite enjoyed this one with the Valhalla and some decent tracks.
First tip - for the speed trap, and the race where you have the discrete chunks of nitrous, you want a nitro chemist set with pure and frenetic if you've been playing the game long enough to have an extra set to recalibrate to that. Also make sure you have legend points on cluster, which gives faster times for drag races, as the race with the discrete nitrous chunks is technically a drag race, I think.
Second tip - there are some fairly big cuts, which I think IVT intends the player to take, as I can't see any other reason for the checkpoints to be where they are. 11:25 and 14:10 in Akor's video are two of the biggest ones I'm aware of:
Okay, I have cracked the code of Grand Races. It's a repeating loop of 23 races. I've been recording what every Grand Race was in a spreadsheet, and the first 3 have now exactly repeated, so I assume that will continue. I don't know when the loop changes, I think it will be different for at least one day of the weekend, and might need re-syncing after that. But for now, this is the repeating schedule:

I don't use his setups. I tried his RB14 setup in TC2 and it was horrendous, but he plays with a wheel in TC2, so it's not surprising it doesn't work with a controller. In Motorfest, setup preferences are going to depend a lot on what assists and controller settings people use. One thing I noticed in FH4 was that a lot of tunes by top players were very oversteery, they liked to always be able to oversteer the car, and use their skill to find the right amount of steering within that oversteery maximum.Didn't like his setup this week the one i made and used the first few runs was faster after switching to his it was far to slippy at the rear
That's funny i thought it was the other way around and he used controller's while i use a wheel i wasn't able to counter steer quick enough..............I don't use his setups. It's a spot on the map kinda hard to find you start there and drive down hill to town in the correct car the map zoom sucks so i used a vid to find itHey guys, what's the stairway to heaven in this weeks challenges?
I have seen a bit more variation just now, got 20 points for winning one race, and 30 for 2nd in another, I think. Only 35 points short of Legend now.I was on a bit of a roll last night and won 2 online races in a row and came 2nd in the 3rd race one of the wins only gave me 16 points![]()
No worries, (sorry) you're accurate as ever, in you're insights... just Grand Races well they just really pong ;-) Perhaps the worst aspect of the game after the jet of doom lol. Each to their own innit. I find fun in photomode, probably not everyone's cup of tea either...@evldave333 Not sure why you gave my other post a poo reaction.
I've beaten them in every event so far (think I've done 5 of the events now), but it has taken me multiple attempts, whereas most summits I'd just do one attempt at each event. I imagine the devs also made multiple attempts, though most (maybe even all) of them have obvious errors in places, and they'd be a lot harder to beat if they'd done enough attempts to achieve a run without any obvious errors. I think only the aliens will be beating them in every event with a single attempt.Anyone even close to beating the dev's ? "cough" i am obviously just wondering about you mere mortals 😜 a pox on the GTI
The ramming in collision races is pretty annoying. I think it would help if people were aware just how few points are at stake for gaining or losing a place or two, maybe they'd understand that they're just so much better off working with people to use the slipstream rather than trying to ram anyone who tries to pass them 10% into the race. I see so many people who are silver or gold rank and they try to ram a legend off the road at the 10% mark. Like, why?!!!!! You think you're going to keep a significantly better driver behind you for the remaining 90% of the race by slowing both of you down by ramming them every time they get alongside you?! You don't realise that's going to push both of you down the field from the 14th and 15th places you're currently in, whereas if you let them past and stay in their slipstream maybe you'll get into the top 5?!No worries, (sorry) you're accurate as ever, in you're insights... just Grand Races well they just really pong ;-) Perhaps the worst aspect of the game after the jet of doom lol. I salute you beating the dev's I'm seeing them pull away on straights suggesting some kind of difference to my set up (im too lazy for manual gears) would not be suprised if they have a different spec car or crew tows going on. Ive witnessed them disappear with full nitrous and a flat foot so something is out of wack for me lol. Later edit: Okay, done all the events now, I beat the devs in all the tarmac events but can't be bothered with the off road ones as they need a crazy amount of memorisation, just left those with poor times. 146th overall.

No, honestly, they're just solo attempts with the same cars we have, all I had to do to beat them is copy what they do, but improve on it a bit.I salute you beating the dev's I'm seeing them pull away on straights suggesting some kind of difference to my set up (im too lazy for manual gears) would not be suprised if they have a different spec car or crew tows going on. Belting im keeping up a bit more now, thanks for that, got rid of some dead zone on throttle trigger too. Ive still been hitting platinum every week, but have hamstrung myself abit it seems. Still struggling a bit though... the ghost really distracts me and makes me erratic. No, honestly, they're just solo attempts with the same cars we have, all I had to do to beat them is copy what they do, but improve on it a bit.
If they're disappearing on a straight when you started with a full tank of nitrous and boosted all the way, these are some reasons why that can happen:
1. They carried more speed out of the previous corner.
2. They were ahead of you coming out of the previous corner, so they got on the nitrous earlier.
3. Maybe you got on the nitrous too early and lost traction, rather than letting the car get straightened up then using the nitrous so it doesn't break traction.
The events that don't use loan cars can still have tyres and pro settings applied, even though the parts are fair pvp, so you still want to put the golden stripes tyres on, cambers to the left, ARBs to the right. The only other setting that can seriously slow you down is you mustn't have ESP on Comfort, Sport is fine.
I used auto gears.
It depends on the corner, some can be taken flat out, some you need to brake for. Some corners that can't be taken flat out can be taken faster by "guttering" where you put two wheels on the dirt, but this does scrub speed from the car so you should only do it when it's overall faster. The dev cars don't have grip mods, but they do drive fairly close to optimally. The game is actually reasonably sim in terms of basic driving physics, so trail braking into corners, partial throttle in corners before hitting full acceleration, are both effective techniques. Where it's arcade is more like the effect of hitting walls, that sort of thing, where it's much more forgiving than a sim like AC EVO, for example.I’m liking this game but idk if I’m playing it right are we supposed to go full send in the corners or treat it like gran turismo and brake for them. The ghosts keep pulling away from me on the loaned cars for this summit idk if they’re using grip mods or im just slow.
When I’m driving they’re 30 seconds + faster than I am and they keep pulling away I’m still in the 3:50 range when I finish the races with a few crashes here and there. It depends on the corner, some can be taken flat out, some you need to brake for. You can see an example of a player comfortably beating their times here:When I’m driving they’re 30 seconds + faster than I am and they keep pulling away I’m still in the 3:50 range when I finish the races with a few crashes here and there.

I was worried at first the times wouldn't count unless you win pheeeweee it would be interesting though to see how many could make it this week if that was the case 🤔Ive had a fresh bash this morning and there is still something in the set up that im missing still, consistently in a straight line im left behind with either gradual acceleration or full foot in with nitrous. That makes me completely at ease with not participating this week. @breeminator is master so im sure its baffling to him whilst most folks cant keep pace lol. For folks like him this should be a mainstay with one event each week having a dev run to for him to sink his teeth into.
The ghosts make me at least 25% worse at driving, they obfuscate me attaining a flow state as they emerge through my vehicle like im tripping out lol. What really killed it off was the bike down the switchback route, ugggh! about as much fun as sitting in a dentist wait room that one. On a positive note 9 races is better than having filler speed trap / escape type events. Back to the main game for me I game for fun not irritation.
