You Are Marge Simpson

marge-simpson.jpg

You're a devoted family member who loves unconditionally.

Sometimes, though, you dream about living a wild secret life!

You will be remembered for: your good cooking and evading the police

Your life philosophy: "You should listen to your heart, and not the voices in your head."

Wow. If I wasn't tired, and in a relatively good mood, I'd be handing out infractions to a lot of you. This was pathetic. Nearly everybody in the last page and a half should be ashamed of yourselves - and you should all PM the original poster an apology.

If I wasn't tired I wouldn't ask: What the crap are you talking about?

EDIT, seriously: Oh yeah, I forgot this is the CTRL V thread. And I thought Sak was trying to start something with me. Dammit I'm tired!:lol:

Taylor's voice of reason.
22nd September: It's not often that we do comment on Eurodragster.com but in the face of the frequently-uninformed and hysterical media reaction to Richard Hammond's accident in the Vampire Jet Dragster we were relieved to receive the thoughts of former Santa Pod Raceway commentator Brian Taylor.

"Isn't it amazing the way that it takes an accident involving a celebrity to give drag racing more coverage than I can remember - and I can remember a long way back", says Brian. "Of course I wish Richard Hammond a full and rapid recovery, but I must say that I have never seen or heard such a lot of ill-informed speculative comment about the type of car, what might have happened, who's to blame, the type of record he was supposedly going for, and so on and so forth. It was a jet car, a rocket car (sometimes both in the same sentence), it was going for the World Land Speed Record, the British Land Speed Record. Sometimes you couldn't hear the real story for the sound of grinding axes, like the guy who runs a stunt organising company saying that often programme producers don't employ firms like his due to budget constraints - implying that if he was employed he would probably not have recommended the 'stunt'. This, even though he clearly knew nothing about the car.

"It is understandable that Colin and his team have to stay quiet. But please, when something like this happens the drag racing powers-that-be must put someone up who knows what they are talking about. Not to speculate about the event, but to explain the facts about the car, the safety precautions, what you need to do to set a record, the fact that these cars have been run for years and appear on a regular basis. Maybe I've missed something but it says something that the most informed comment I have heard so far has come from Mike Smith. Clearly his fringe involvement with drag racing via Radio One during the 1980s must have helped."

On the subject of interviews, Smax Smith and Steve Woollatt have both told us that they were approached by radio stations to talk about Richard Hammond's accident, and your News Editor was lined up do a radio interview about events at the FIA European Finals before BBC Three Counties Radio decided to cancel literally at the last minute for reasons which we could not describe without appearing cynical.
